What's Next for Galaxy Macau? Capella Hotel Set to Open in 2025

The giant Galaxy Macau development is set to get even bigger from the middle of next year via the premiere of a new five-star hotel tower being built in collaboration with Capella Hotels and Resorts.

The Macau property owned and operated by Galaxy Entertainment Group already has more than 3,400 rooms spread across seven uniquely-themed hotels, along a 400,000 sq ft casino featuring a selection of some 1,500 slots and 650 gaming tables. 

The twelve-year-old resort plays host to over 100 restaurants, a ten-screen cinema, an art gallery, a spa and a nightly laser light show, as well as the world’s largest elevated water park.

Esteemed Extension 

The French firm Moinard Betaille will design a 17-story hotel tower for the upcoming Capella at Galaxy Macau addition, according to Galaxy Entertainment Group. It features 36 ‘sky villas’ and 57 suites. 

The Hong Kong-listed operator disclosed that the gold-clad annexe, additionally to a casino location, will  house an around-the-clock restaurant, a diverse art collection, a bar offering limited-edition whiskies and a members-only lounge designed by Albert Kwan.

The Vice-Chairman for Galaxy Entertainment Group, Francis Lui, said every one of the ‘sky villas’ inside the new Capella at Galaxy Macau will come complete with a ‘light-filled balcony’ featuring an infinity-edge pool in addition to a sunroom, an outdoor lounge and a ‘hidden winter garden’ to provide guests with ‘a serene nature experience year-round’. 

The executive declared the suites are to also have pools and balconies, along with staffed pantries, karaoke rooms with fully-stocked cigar butlers, cocktail bars, and game lounges.

“We are thrilled to create this magnificent embodiment of ultra-luxury 21st-Century hospitality in partnership with Capella Hotels and Resorts,” Lui said. 

“As the newest addition to our integrated luxury destination, Capella at Galaxy Macau represents our continued commitment to delivering unparalleled experiential luxury to our international guests in Macau." 

Serious Selection

Galaxy Entertainment Group is additionally responsible for Macau’s similarly-large Broadway Macau and StarWorld Hotel properties, while its flagship Galaxy Macau development also plays host to the 16,000-seat Galaxy Arena, the Galaxy Promenade shopping mall and the 430,550 sq ft Galaxy International Convention Center. 

The operator asserted that the coming Capella at Galaxy Macau hotel will see it continue to offer ‘an unmatched guest experience’ and allow patrons to enjoy ‘a memorable epicurean experience’.
