Dwarf & Dragon by Pragmatic Play is as you would expect. It has bold animation, big-size gaming, and a look of promise, but it is likely to be disappointing. Don’t get me wrong when I say this, but of late, Pragmatic Play hasn’t been at its best. 

Dwarf & Dragon comes with a 4 x 5 grid layout, that carries 1024 ways to win. The rows and reels are set inside a crystal cave and guarded by a dragon with one of the dwarf miners to the side of it. The design itself is a bit too cutesy for me. I’m an adult and not too fond of slots looking like they sprung out of a Disney movie.

The Dwarf & Dragon slot is what I call a basic Pragmatic Play game. There is little to it, and it only contains one special bonus round. 

First, you will find this game inside many top casinos online because of the demand for Pragmatic Play within the business. So, all this makes up the general dynamic of the slot. However, there is one additional feature and bonus round that helps to make Dwarf & Dragon a little bit more exciting.

Wild Multiplier: During random points of the game, Wilds can drop with a multiplier value on them. These can be x2, x3, x5, or x10. This includes split Wilds, with each side holding its own value.

My expectations of this game were low from the start. Again, Pragmatic Play have found an easy formula to make a lot of games around. Dwarf & Dragon is one of many that have minimal engagement factors, which doesn’t appeal to me. 

I loaded the game from my casino and played 50 spins at $1 per spin. There’s not much to report in terms of experience: 25 spins in, and I only won three times, and values lower than my $1 bet per spin.  With 10 spins left, it felt like a lot of nothing was happening. 5 spins left, and I was losing the will to live. On spin 4, I landed about 10 purple gems, but this only equated to $6. And on my last spin, I won $10 from landing 6 map symbols. In the end, I didn’t win enough to cash out, and, yeah, this game will long be forgotten. 

The volatility of Dwarf & Dragon was programmed at a high setting. The RTP that came with it was calculated to be 96.59%, which is average. The max win was capped at 14,000 times the bet value. This means a huge jackpot return if playing at the maximum bet amount, which is why the volatility is as high as it is. 

Pragmatic Play has been dishing out games like this for a number of months now. Devoted fans of their software will love it, dwarves will again protest at misrepresentation. The genre and design dynamics are not new, this slot is void of anything new or innovative in how it performs.
