Few TV shows in the 21st Century have made the cultural impact that Breaking Bad has. The show is widely regarded as one of the greatest ever made, and its fingerprints are all across popular culture. Popular game developer Playtech is now bringing Walter White and co. back to life in an entirely new format with a series of online slots.
Mega Fire Blaze: Breaking Bad is one such title. In my experience, titles based on TV and movies can be a bit of a mixed bag. Does Mega Fire Blaze: Breaking Bad manage to cook up something good? Join me as I find out in this Mega Fire Blaze: Breaking Bad slot review.
Mega Fire Blaze: Breaking Bad was released in 2024, but if I hadn’t found that information, I would never have guessed. The slot’s design makes it feel at least five years older than it is, with Playtech opting for a very old-school look. The game uses real images of several characters from the show, including Walter White, Skyler, Saul Goodman, and Jessie, with the game’s backdrop being set in the desert.
The action is intercut with random sequences from the show, mainly featuring Walter White saying iconic phrases. The bonus feature, which we will cover later in this Mega Fire Blaze: Breaking Bad review, transports players away from the desert to outside one of Gus Frink’s iconic Los Pollos Hermanos restaurants.
While I had good luck playing the game, there is no escaping the fact it looks and feels very dated.
You won’t need to be Walter White levels of genius to get the reels spinning in Mega Fire Blaze: Breaking Bad. The slot uses a standard 5x3 set-up, with 30 fixed paylines on each spin. Wins are rewarded when you land a matching combination of three or more symbols.
The stake can be adjusted by clicking the coin icon and then using the +/- symbols. You can also activate the Turbo feature to speed up the action.
Below, you can read about the Mega Fire Blaze: Breaking Bad slot bonus rounds and features.
The first is the Free Spins bonus. This is triggered when players land three or more Scatters, with five spins being rewarded. During the round, bubbles will float across the screen. These can land to reveal Wilds, which can be expanding, or Fire Blaze symbols.
For this Mega Fire Blaze: Breaking Bad review, I played the game for real money at the best casinos online on my laptop. I set the stake to $0.50 and got lucky almost immediately. On my third spin, I triggered the Hold and Spin bonus. The round ended up being incredibly fruitful, with the three character reels unlocking very quickly.
In the end, the spins kept stacking up, and I was able to secure a win of $55, which was 110x my total stake. While this was not the biggest win, it felt like a huge one to start my gameplay with. The rest of the game continued as normal, and on around my 40th spin, I triggered the free spins bonus. Here, I ended up landing another $18 win. Overall, including small wins in the game, I ended up being up quite considerably after around 50 spins.
Mega Fire Blaze: Breaking Bad has a very good RTP of 95.87%. It is not uncommon to encounter games with an RTP close to the industry standard of 96%. The slot has been rated as highly volatile and has a fairly average maximum win of 4,129x your stake.
Overall, Mega Fire Blaze: Breaking Bad is a mixed bag. While I had good luck playing the game, there is no escaping the fact it looks and feels very dated. The Hold and Spin bonus, has some good winning potential, and the maths model is good, but the maximum win is not going to stand-out, and the rest of the bonuses are not particularly original.
If you are a fan of the show or you like hold-and-win style bonuses, then Mega Fire Blaze: Breaking Bad is definitely worth a spin. Otherwise, there are better hold and spin-style games in the best casinos online.
If you are a fan of Mega Fire Blaze: Breaking Bad, I recommend checking out other Playtech slots. Buffalo Blitz and Buffalo Blitz Megaways both come highly recommended, and fans of TV and film-themed slots could check out The Green Lantern or Top Gun.
