Andrew Rhodes, the CEO of the UK Gambling Commission, is set to travel to the United States to participate in the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) 2024, taking place from October 7 to 10 in Las Vegas.
G2E is recognized as a premier gathering for the gaming industry, serving as a platform that fosters innovation and drives growth by bringing together the global gaming community to engage in business discussions. With a focus on both land-based and online casinos, this year's event promises to showcase the latest developments and trends in the gambling sector.
In a recent LinkedIn post, Mr. Rhodes shared his enthusiasm about attending G2E 2024, where he will meet with various state regulators and participate in a repeat of last year’s successful regulators roundtable.
Andrew Rhodes will also join a panel discussion titled "Where Sports Betting’s Growth Sits on the Regulatory Agenda,” which will explore the rapidly evolving North American betting landscape following the landmark overturn of PASPA by the U.S. Supreme Court.
This panel will feature insights from both domestic and international regulators, addressing key challenges, opportunities, and the future outlook for local and global markets.
The Global Gaming Expo will kick off with keynote sessions by industry leaders, including Flutter Entertainment CEO Peter Jackson and MGM Resorts President and CEO Bill Hornbuckle.
Bill Miller, President and CEO of the American Gaming Association (AGA), highlighted the significance of these discussions, stating, “Peter and Bill are two titans of the gaming industry whose perspectives will illuminate where the industry is headed and set the stage for innovations explored throughout this year’s G2E.”
Miller will also be welcoming attendees, previewing the event, and addressing major macrotrends influencing the future of gaming during his opening remarks.
“Gaming is undergoing historic expansion in the U.S. and internationally,” Miller told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “The AGA and our partners at RX eagerly anticipate hosting the global gaming community at G2E, where we will address the diverse array of industry priorities—both in keynote sessions and on the expo floor.”
Presented by the AGA and organized by RX, G2E 2024 features a comprehensive educational lineup, offering over 100 sessions dedicated to various aspects of the gaming industry.
The conference will be held at the Venetian Expo in Las Vegas, with educational sessions from October 7-10 and the expo hall open from October 8-10.
Most of my career was spent in teaching including at one of the UK’s top private schools. I left London in 2000 and set up home in Wales raising four beautiful children. I enrolled at University where I studied Photography and film and gained a Degree and subsequently a Masters Degree. In 2014 I helped launch a new local newspaper and managed to get front and back page as well as 6 filler pages on a weekly basis. I saw that journalism was changing and was a pioneer of hyperlocal news in Wales. In 2017 I started one of the first 24/7 free independent news sites for Wales. Having taken that to a successful business model I was keen for a new challenge. Joining the company is exciting for me especially as it is a new role in Europe. I am keen to establish myself and help others to do the same.
