A charity that supplies wheelchairs for young people with disabilities has organised a roulette day to raise funds.
CHIPS was founded on behalf of the UK gaming industry, which encompasses land-based and online casinos alike, in order to raise funds to purchase specialised powered wheelchairs for youngsters with varying disabilities. CHIPS provides wheelchairs for children who would otherwise have no way of getting around on their own. CHIPS funds the wheelchairs that the NHS cannot or will not provide and that the parents cannot afford to buy.
Andrew Cammegh, the Director of CHIPS, recently ran their Spin for Chips to Win campaign at the annual Chips golf day. Dealer for the day, Edit Funaru, spun the wheel for each of the 104 golfers taking part. The winning numbers were added together (zeros counted as £100), raising £2,140 towards the charity.
Linda and Jeff Lindsay, with the support of their team of trustees, established CHIPS, an amazing charity, to raise awareness and funds for the purchase of powered wheelchairs for children with various disabilities.
When Linda and her husband Jeffrey started the John Huxley (Casino Equipment) Golf Tournament, they asked the players to donate towards purchasing powered wheelchairs for youngsters with different disabilities.
Linda formed CHIPS Charity with 3 other members of the casino industry who all agreed to donate their time. She travels up and down the country, meeting every youngster and their family and presenting them with their new powered wheelchairs.
The CHIPS Charity Committee, which is formed from senior members of the gaming industry, works for free; no expenses are deducted and every penny raised goes towards providing the quality of life that is the right of every child.
The charity has an impressive list of sponsors from the gambling industry. Thanks to the UK gaming industry, CHIPS has raised over £2,000,000 and has gifted over 500 wheelchairs. There are, however, many more children who need our help.

Most of my career was spent in teaching including at one of the UK’s top private schools. I left London in 2000 and set up home in Wales raising four beautiful children. I enrolled at University where I studied Photography and film and gained a Degree and subsequently a Masters Degree. In 2014 I helped launch a new local newspaper and managed to get front and back page as well as 6 filler pages on a weekly basis. I saw that journalism was changing and was a pioneer of hyperlocal news in Wales. In 2017 I started one of the first 24/7 free independent news sites for Wales. Having taken that to a successful business model I was keen for a new challenge. Joining the company is exciting for me especially as it is a new role in Europe. I am keen to establish myself and help others to do the same.
