Coming-of-age comedy The Inbetweeners could be making a comeback, with rumours rife that a third movie might be on the way.
Joe Thomas, who played Simon in the popular E4 TV series and subsequent two movies, added fuel to the fire recently by dropping a huge hint that a third film could be on the way.
Co-created by Iain Morris and Damon Beesley, the TV series has become a cult classic, despite airing for just three series, from 2008 to 2010, and many fans are keen to see what the characters are up to now, 10 years after the second motion picture hit the big screen.
Joe admitted the main cast, who include James Buckley (Jay), Simon Bird (Will) and Blake Harrison (Neil), feel it would be "nice" to reunite, and he told the Always Be Comedy podcast that "some of the ideas out there".
While it may sound like something vulgar Jay might dream up, this includes a movie about a stag do in Las Vegas - what more could Inbetweeners fans want?
Thomas' comments come after Bird previously admitted to The Guardian newspaper that "anything's possible" when discussing a potential reunion, and he joked the quartet could shoot a third film for Netflix.
With talk of a potential follow-up movie, there has been additional speculation about which guest stars could appear in the movie.
Former EastEnders actor Danny Dyer is the early 4/5 favourite to make a cameo in the film, and one cast member could put in a good word for him.
The Football Factory star is good mates with James Buckley and also recently filmed upcoming Disney+ drama series Rivals alongside Emily Atack, who appeared in The Inbetweeners series.
While Emily didn't star in the first two movies, it wouldn't be a huge surprise if the former Celebrity Juice team captain reprised her Inbetweeners TV series role as Charlotte Hinchcliffe for a third film.
If so, she could tempt her comedy pal Keith Lemon (4/1) over to Vegas for a cameo, or even her actress mum Kate Robbins, who is a 5/1 chance.
Since the second Inbetweeners movie was released 10 years ago, the cast did have one reunion of sorts courtesy of a two-hour TV special, entitled Fwends Reunited.
It saw the four main stars back together again, as comedian Jimmy Carr chatted to them about the TV series, and several celebrity guest fans also appeared.
However, the special was massively panned by the critics and Buckley went on to describe it as "awkward" and a "disaster", insisting he came across as a "complete moron".
He said on his Completed It Mate podcast: "It became a thing that wasn’t a celebration of this good thing I did in my life, it was me being taken the piss out of for hours on end."
While that reunion didn't go down so well, it wouldn't be a huge surprise to see some of the show's celebrity super-fans rock up in a third movie.
Mysterious Girl singer Peter Andre was among those who appeared on the reunion special, and he is just Evens to use that as a stepping stone to an Inbetweeners 3 cameo.
What's more, Derry Girls star Nicola Coughlan (6/4), former pro boxer Frank Bruno (9/2), and Fresh Meat actress Zawe Ashton (6/1) could all be in contention for a guest spot after showing their love for the show on the awkward episode. As could fictional character Basil Brush, who is a 10/1 chance.
However, if the lads do end up heading to Vegas for a stag do as part of the plot, then it could pave the way for some Hollywood actors to make the four-and-a-half hour drive from Los Angeles to Sin City for a cameo.
As well as co-creating Inbetweeners, Morris also co-wrote 2023 movie Next Goal Wins alongside filmmaker and actor Taika Waititi, and the cast was led by Michael Fassbender.
If Morris is looking for a huge star to make a cameo in Inbetweeners 3 then 2/1 shot Fassbender could be his man, while Waititi is 5/2 to do so, and his wife, superstar singer Rita Ora, is just 7/2.
Will Arnett also starred in Next Goal Wins and BBC comedy The First Team, which Morris and Beesley co-created.
He is 3/1 for an Inbetweeners 3 cameo - but will the film win any awards, or be a box office success if it comes to fruition?
The first Inbetweeners movie won an Empire Award for Best Comedy, and the second film was nominated for the same prize in 2015, but it came up short.
Buckley and Bird also received National Film Award Best Actor nods for The Inbetweeners 2, and while they couldn't quite get over the line, they might get another chance if a third movie does materialise.
While it may not create any Oscars buzz, The Inbetweeners 3 is 11/8 to scoop an accolade, and 8/11 to miss out.
However, it could fare better at the box office.
The Inbetweeners Movie landed $88 million at the worldwide box office, from a budget of just $4.9 million (£3.5 million), while The Inbetweeners 2 raked in $63.8 million from the same budget.
However, the second movie did break records, surpassing the first film's record for the highest gross on the opening day of a comedy in the UK, after raking in £2.75 million ($3.6 million).
While it's not known what sort of budget there would be for a third movie, it is 4/6 that the project grosses between $50 million and $100 million worldwide, and it's 6/4 it outdoes that figure.
But it's a massive 5/1 that the film is a huge flop and dips below $50 million.
While the Fwends Reunited reunion didn't dazzle, if the four lads do head to the bright lights of Vegas they could certainly make up for that. Just imagine what Jay will get up to in Sin City.
