Knifeman Charged with Causing £8k of Damage to Slots at Bingo Hall

A man who attended a bingo and gambling destination near Manchester armed with a knife is alleged to have caused over £8k of damage to gambling machines as well as assaulting at least one person.

The incident is alleged to have occurred on June 11th at Buzz Bingo at the Cockhedge Centre in Warrington.  

36-year-old Constantin Lupo was charged in connection with the incident, including possessing a knife in a public place, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and criminal damage.

The Knife Exceeded Three Inches in Length 

It is alleged that Lupo was in possession of a knife exceeding three inches in length without good reason or lawful authority on June 11th at the venue. Lupo is alleged to have assaulted a man on the same day, causing him actual bodily harm.  

Lupo was also alleged to have damaged five slots to the value of £8,734.08 belonging to Buzz Bingo of Warrington. Lupo is due to attend court today, Wednesday, July 10th

Gaming Machines Smashed at Grovesnor Casino 

In a separate incident, police were called to Grosvenor Casino in Coventry, where they arrested a man for causing £5,000 worth of damage to gaming machines.  

Police confirmed that the incident occurred at the Grosvenor Casino in Longford in April of this year. The man in his 30's has not been named but was identified by CCTV and subsequently arrested and released on bail.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said, “A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage. He has been bailed pending further enquiries.”
