The suspect was subsequently arrested on suspicion of theft and transferred back to Nottingham for questioning. He was later bailed with conditions, including the surrender of his passport, while the investigation continues.

PC Callum Thomas-Shaw, of Nottinghamshire Police, said that thefts of this nature can have a significant impact on businesses and that the force will always vigorously investigate such incidents. He praised the assistance of Border Force officers in apprehending the suspect and emphasized the importance of working closely with partner agencies to tackle all forms of crime.

The arrest is a significant development in the investigation into the theft, and detectives are now working to recover the stolen money and bring the perpetrator to justice.

Theft Likely to Have Significant Impact on Alea Casino

The Alea Casino is a popular entertainment venue in Nottingham, offering a range of casino games, dining experiences, and live events. The theft of such a large sum of money is likely to have had a significant impact on the business, and it is hoped that the recovery of the stolen funds will help to mitigate this loss.

As the investigation continues, Nottinghamshire Police are urging anyone with information about the theft to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
