Race Track Review

Evolution has once again reimagined live casino gaming by releasing Race Track, a retro-themed game that combines the excitement of racing with strategic betting. In Race Track, you get to watch six racers go against one another while betting on which you think will win. With two modes, you can choose the racers to be Horses or Dinosaurs.

However, these racers are selected from a pool of fifty: Strong Runners, Average Runners, and Outsiders. While Strong Runners have a high chance of winning, their payouts are small, going as low as 1x. As expected, Outsiders have much lower chances of winning, though with much higher payouts.

Unlike most live casino game shows, Evolution’s Race Track uses an RNG to determine the winner of each race. Therefore, you can be sure each result is random and unbiased.

In this review, I’ll explain everything you need about Race Track, including its design, gameplay, and betting information. Ultimately, you’ll be able to decide if this live casino game is worth your time.

Race Track Game Design

Evolution's live casino games are known for their sleek designs and intuitive interfaces. However, Race Track breaks away from the norm, offering a retro-themed gaming experience instead. In this game, you get pixelated graphics, with the race being on a racing track shown on the TV screen.

Depending on your mode (horses or dinosaurs), the racers line up along the track, with the best being on the first lane. To the right of the TV is a small window showing the game host.

Before a race starts, the betting interface displays the six current racers, showing their names and corresponding odds of winning. Note that two racers are chosen from each category – Strong Runners, Average Runners, and Outsiders. Whichever racer you pick is conveniently highlighted, so there’s a lower chance of making an accidental pick.

At the bottom of the game’s interface, a few tabs display your current balance and your last win. When a round ends, the results are displayed on the TV screen. If your horse or dinosaur comes first, you’ll receive a payout depending on its odds.

Another noteworthy feature of Race Track is its Autoplay option. You can use the Autoplay to automatically choose a number (1-6) for a specific number of races. If you want to choose a Strong Runner, you can set the Autoplay to 1 or 2. Alternatively, lanes 5 and 6 are reserved for Outsiders.

How to Play Race Track Online

Evolution kept things straightforward when designing Race Track. The game features a simple gameplay in which players bet on the winner of each race.

To begin, ensure you have enough funds to participate. Race Track has minimum and maximum bet limits of $0.10 and $5,000, respectively. Its limits are quite player-friendly, as the game caters to casual players and high rollers.

After launching the game, choose your preferred game mode: Horses or Dinosaurs. You can also play with or without the live game host, as the dealer isn’t crucial to the gameplay.

During the betting phase, choose the racer you think will win. However, Race Track doesn’t limit you to just a single selection. You can choose two, three, or even all available racers. Remember that the better the racer, the lower the payout odds. Notably, you don’t have to wager the same amount on all racers you choose, as each has its unique bet and payout.

After the betting phase ends, the game will randomly choose a winner after accounting for each racer’s probability of winning. If your racer wins, you’ll receive a payout depending on its odds.

I was impressed when I discovered that Race Track offers players a Statistics feature. The Statistics is split into two categories – All Horses mode and Tipster’s Choice.

The All Horses mode shows how the horses, or dinosaurs, performed against their winning probabilities across the last hundred races. Conversely, the Tipster’s Choice displays racers that have historically outperformed others.

However, while the Statistics provide valuable information, the outcome of each race is randomly generated. As a result, you can’t depend solely on the available statistics when making your choice.

Race Track Bet Information

Evolution’s Race Track boasts an RTP of 96.00%, which is relatively average for a live dealer game. In terms of betting options, you can choose one or multiple racers. Whether you decide on horses or dinosaurs, six racers are picked from a pool of fifty options.

Remember that two racers are picked from the Strongest Runners, Average Runners, and Outsiders.

  • Strongest Runners: A high chance of winning (low odds)
  • Average Runners: A medium chance of winning (medium odds)
  • Outsiders: A low chance of winning (high odds)

Here’s what Race Track offers in terms of payouts from its pool of fifty options:

RacersOdds
Fourteen Strong Runners1:1 – 3:1
Seventeen Average Runners4:1 – 15:1
Nineteen Outsiders17:1 – 89:1

Therefore, the maximum multiplier you can get to your wager is 89x. Unfortunately, this max payout is significantly lower than I find at other live casino games. Therefore, if you wager $10 on an Average Runner with odds of 9:1 and win, you’ll receive a payout of $90.

Race Track Strategy

Race Track has a simple gameplay, unlike strategic live casino games like Blackjack and Poker. As a result, strategy only helps to a limited degree; the game uses a Random Number Generator to produce random outcomes.

Although the game's statistics are handy, you shouldn’t depend solely on the tips provided, as the RNG only considers the probability of each racer winning.

Nonetheless, if you want rewarding gameplay in Race Track, I recommend diversifying your wagers. Although you might be tempted only to choose Strong Runners, that won’t help your payout in the long run.

The max multiplier you can get from Strong Runners is 3x your bet. Instead, I recommend spreading your bet, as Race Track allows multiple selections. You can bet two units on a Strong Runner, one on an Average Runner, and one on an Outsider. For example, you can bet:

  • $20 on a Strong Runner
  • $10 on an Average Runner
  • $10 on an Outsider

As two racers are chosen from each category, this arrangement gives you a 50% chance of winning a race. If the Strong Runner wins, you only get a minimal loss or even a profit if the racer’s odds are 3:1.

On the other hand, if your Average Runner wins, the lowest you can get is 4x your wager, which should cover your entire bet amount on a specific race. However, if the Outsider wins, you’ll get a much larger payout, which is a great buffer before you get another win.

My Experience Playing Race Track Live

Playing Race Track live was undoubtedly a unique experience. After launching the game, I chose the Horse mode and opted for the live game host. Although the game host isn’t essential to the gameplay, I enjoyed the regular commentary, which offered an interactive gaming experience.

Truth be told, I had to watch a few races to get the hang of things. However, once I did, I was eager to get started. After the current race ended, the betting phase for the next began, with six horses lined up. Using the intuitive betting interface, I quickly made my selections and wagers.

I played it safe for my first race by choosing the Strong Runner on lane one. However, the odds were 1:1, so I got no additional payout when my racer won. Nonetheless, the first race gave me the confidence to make multiple selections.

Although I checked out the All Horses mode and Tipster’s Choice for some quick information about the racers, I didn't let that affect my decisions. Overall, I found the experience to be quite user-friendly. Whether placing your bet or viewing the statistics, you’ll get the premium experience Evolution is known for.

My Experience Playing Race Track for Real Money

While playing Race Track for real money, I used my strategy of making multiple selections. Before the race began, six horses lined up in this order: Flower, Lightning, Funky, Frost, Phoenix, and Radiant. As I’ve mentioned in this review, the racers line up according to their categories, with the first being Strong Runners and the last being Outsiders.

During the betting phase, I wagered $20 on Flower with odds of 2:1. Next, I bet $10 on an Average Runner, Funky, with odds of 6:1. To round things off, I wagered $10 on an Outsider, Frost, with impressive odds of 35:1.

Once the race began, the horse started running on the race track. Keep in mind that the pixelated race is just a simulation. The RNG generates a random winner at the beginning of a race, and the simulation lets you know which racer won.

When the race ended, the results showed that Flower crossed the finish line first, netting me a win. Due to the odds being 2:1, my final payout was $40, which covered the amount I used on all selections in that race.

Although an Outsider didn’t win during my gaming experience, I still got a decent profit thanks to the relatively high odds on Average Runners.
