Welcome to the latest collection of high RTP slots! As a keen slots player, I like to find games that give me entertainment and the best chances to win some money back. Over time, I’ve gathered a tidy list of these types of online slots with high RTP. Have a look, see if you like any of my suggestions, and take them out for a spin. But before you do that, read on to learn more about what RTP means and why it’s an integral part of every slot machine!
Over the past years, I’ve managed to build a list of high RTP slots that shine when it comes to features and the chances they provide of hitting some good wins. Of course, since I’m always on the lookout for new games that fall into the best RTP slots category, you might find that this list changes over time. But change is good – it means that game providers are adding more and more of the best RTP online slots that are worth your time and money.
Right at the top of my list is Book of 99, offering, as the name suggests, the mind-blowing RTP percentage of 99%. This highly volatile slot comes with a pretty standard 10-payline, 5 reels grid. But then you also have the chance to trigger Free Spins and Expanding Symbols, as well as the Wild Collection feature, where potential wins can reach up to 12,070x the stake.
The RTP on this game is no joke! And apart from the 98% RTP rating, Jokerizer also boasts two bonus modes. In the Mystery Win, you’ll have the chance to crack a jackpot of up to 6,000 coins. To do this, you need to get 3 Jokers on the reels on the same spin. Then there’s the Jokerizer bonus feature. You can activate this after every win to enter a high-stakes play. Every spin will take 20 coins from your winnings. And while you’re at it, you'll need only two Jokers to trigger the Mystery Win feature.
The only way to win real cash in Money Cart 2 is through the Re-spin Round. This is the game's main bonus feature. To trigger it, you need to land three bonus symbols. This tends to happen more frequently than in standard slots. During the bonus round, Money symbols are added to the reels. These stick there while you get 3 free spins. Any spin that lands a symbol will reset re-spins back to 3.
The initial 5x4 grid of Money Cart Bonus Reels can expand by 2 more reels (hence the name). Money Cart Bonus Reels is full of fun, with purple Bonus Symbols and outlaw characters that play a special role in the game.
The game’s two bonus rounds host the bigger payouts in Blood Suckers. One is a bonus game triggered by three or more Stake & Hammer symbols – here, you get to open coffins for a chance to loot cash prizes. The other is a Free Spins Bonus. To enter it, you need to reveal three or more of the Vampire Bride scatter symbols. You’ll play ten free spins with a 3x multiplier!
Red Tiger Gaming bolted 117,649 ways to win to the popular original slot to create Blood Suckers Megaways, increasing the maximum winning potential to a whopping 20,522x bet. There are also four modifiers in the base game, and you get to pick one of them before starting the Bonus Round.
Possibly one of the most popular games online, the well-made Big Bad Wolf video slot is great fun. There’s a fantastic Free Spins round boosted with multipliers and scatters. The appropriately named Blowing Down the House feature delivers spins and boosted payouts. Under the right conditions, the Wolf can huff and puff a hefty 1,000 coin jackpot prize.
Apart from the high RTP, White Rabbit Megaways mesmerizes players with its 16,807 possible ways to win in the base game and a staggering 248,832 ways during the Free Spins Bonus feature. Megaways slots have become a popular choice among online slot fans – and for a good reason. The popular mechanic invented by BTG offers many more opportunities than traditional games and adds a good splash of fun and excitement to the mix.
Entertainment is guaranteed in Jack Hammer 2, a NetEnt slot where the smallest wins can turn out into huge payouts. How? A winning combination of three or more Jack Hammer 2 prize symbols sticks in place while the reels spin again for free. This process keeps repeating until there are no more wins. Wild substitutions add to the fun, while with five or more free spin symbols, you can get up to 20 free spins with a 2X multiplier.
The dive to unravel the riches of the lost city of Atlantis is well worth it, with the game’s 97.07% RTP. In Secrets of Atlantis you'll be spinning precious gems on up to 40 lines, while Free Spins, Colossal Symbols, and Stacked Wilds add to the entertainment but also help you win.
If, like me, you love slots and spend time playing slots for real money online, then you should know that you and I are the P in RTP. That’s right. P stands for Player. RTP, or Return To Player, is a kind of benchmark that indicates the theoretical rate of return that the game offers to players. In layman’s terms, a slot with an RTP of 97% is basically telling you that over a period of time, it will pay $97 for every $100 players put into it.
Now, wait just a moment - it does get a bit more complicated. That 97% RTP does not mean that if you put $100, you’re guaranteed to walk away with $97. Because the RTP applies to all the players playing the slot. So, if over a period of time, there are 1,000 players playing the same game, that percentage is split between all of them. That is why some players end up with no wins or a few, while others go home with a nice prize.
Still, playing on slots with high RTP is not a bad idea. It’s logical, and you would want to play on slots that are more likely to pay a return than other slots.
The regulars here are slots that everyone loves playing. Games like the Book of Dead (96.21% RTP), Starburst (96.09% RTP), Reactoonz (96.51% RTP), Jack and the Beanstalk (96.28% RTP), Sweet Bonanza (96.51% RTP) have a cult following, with thousands of players seeking them out all over the world. And why wouldn’t they? These online slots have beautiful visuals, are really entertaining, and have some exciting bonus features. These types of games have an average RTP that ranges between 94% to 97%. I consider any slot that goes higher than 97% RTP to be a high RTP slot.
For some, progressive jackpot slots are the best in town. The reason is, of course, the often huge sums of money waiting to be won by one lucky spin. I’m not personally attracted to progressive jackpots since I prefer the fun (and, in my opinion, better constructed) features offered by many video slots. However, I cannot deny that prizes that often soil the million-dollar mark do tempt me just a little. Before jumping in on the progressive train, you should know that progressive jackpots have some of the lowest RTP percentages in the industry. For example, the most famous of them all, Mega Moolah, has an RTP of 88.12%. This is way lower than that of regular slots and surely not even close to high RTP slots.
The best RTP slots will usually show you the RTP rating immediately since, for the maker of the game, it’s one of the main selling points. Take Book of 99 by Relax Gaming as an example. As soon as you open the game, you’ll find an RTP 99% badge waiting for you.
If the game you’re playing does not announce the RTP, you should know that there’s more than one way to verify the rating. You can access the game information section from the game options menu. The RTP rating of most slots will be written within that section. Or, if you cannot find it, you can look for a review of the slot online. Nearly every game that has ever been made has a review. Just chuck the slot name in the search bar of your favorite search engine, and you’ll get the RTP rate straight away.
To verify the actual RTP of a slot, you need to divide the total amount that the game paid out to the players over a specific period of time by the total amount gambled by the same players, then multiply the result by 100.
I would like to add a note here about certain slot games that can have more than one RTP. Sometimes, you’ll come across games like these, and the reasons why they have more than one RTP rate can be one of two. Some game providers like Microgaming, NetEnt, and Quickspin have embraced a flexible RTP approach. This means that they provide different RTP versions of the same game to casinos (so, for example, one version would have a 97% RTP, and the other version would have 95% RTP).
Another reason is that the same game will have an RTP for the base game and a different one for the bonus rounds. For example, NetEnt’s Cornelius has a 96.04% RTP during the base game, but if you use the Buy Feature to play directly the bonus game, you’ll be looking at a 95.96% RTP.
In slot slang, volatility, and RTP are two terms that you’ll often find in the same sentence or at least on the same page. It’s because these two things are related, although not the same.
I’ve already explained what RTP is, but here’s a refresh – it’s the return to player that the slot you’re playing is expected to churn out over time. On the other hand, volatility, also known as variance, is a word that describes how often you can expect a payout. So, by determining the frequency of payouts, you’ll also be getting an indication of how risky the game is. If it pays a lot, the risk is low. It can also be medium or high.
How does this volatility risk affect your wins? Slots with low volatility pay more often, but payouts are smaller. Highly volatile slots don’t pay out that frequently, but when they do, the payouts are bigger.
The highest RTP slots may come with any level of volatility, but it’s not that easy to determine the volatility of a game. The best thing you can do is to check out the reviews that my colleagues and I publish on this site. We’ve covered hundreds of slots, so the review of the slot you’re looking for is probably on casinos.com!
Balance is everything, even when it comes to slots. While you may think it’s logical to go for high RTP slots that also have high volatility, in truth, it may not be your best option.
It all boils down to your budget. Slots with a lower risk tend to suit smaller bankrolls, while high volatility slots which pay out less frequently might put a dent in your wallet before you see a good-sized win.
NO! A high RTP does not make a slot good. I'll mention one example of a slot with a staggering 99% RTP that I simply can't even look at, and that's Mega Joker by NetEnt. It's a slot with a retro design that is too much. And although Mega Joker has different modes, bonuses, and features, including a varying jackpot, I did not find this game appealing. I mentioned this game as an example. There are other slots with a high RTP that didn't make it to my list of favorite RTP slots. For me, a great game must tick all the boxes to be considered a game worth playing: design, features, gameplay, mechanics, and win potential. Of course, there's absolutely nothing wrong if you like this game. After all, tastes are very subjective to personal preferences. In all fairness, NetEnt launched this game way back in 2011 and made it look as close to an old-school slot machine as possible.
Finding and playing the best RTP slots is not a big deal. The games I listed above are so popular that the most reputable online casinos have them in their slots section. Just go to my page where I recommend the best casino online sites and pick one.
In a virtual online world that’s mostly built for mobile, online slots are designed to adapt to the needs of the many. Which is why all of the best RTP slots on my list play the same on whichever device you use.
Some online casinos have their own downloadable native casino app, which promises a more immersive user experience. I tend to agree, as the app lets you focus on the game at hand. Those casino sites that don’t come with an app will still render well on a smartphone or mobile device, so put your mind at ease: you can play high RTP mobile slots while you’re on the move.
