My favourite genres are fantasy (Lord of the Rings, Wheel of Time, Mistborn, The Dark Tower) and spy thrillers (Bourne, James Bond). The book that impressed me the most in my life is Cloud Atlas, by David Mitchell.

So. the chances are that if I'm not working, I'm either playing table tennis down at the club, enjoying a walk in the countryside or at my olive grove, tending the trees in the hope of getting some quality olive oil next year. Oh, and did I mention I love writing? So far, I have published 21 books – 17 in my native Maltese, 3 in English and 1 in Spanish. I have also won the Malta National Book Prize award 7 times.
