The Alpha Gods: Zeus slot is another Ancient Greece-themed game that has been added to the Greek Mythology slots category, which has been booming in the online gambling sphere for ages. It comes from PearFiction Studios. That is a Canadian developer that operates out of Montreal and has a tight working relationship with Games Global.

The name of this title suggests (the colon in it) that it may be a part of a series. Yet, as far as I’m aware, PearFiction only has this Alpha Gods product. So, maybe this is the first entry in a potential franchise. Thus, we should not be surprised to see this studio create other Greek God-inspired slots with similar gameplay to this one.

That last part refers to features like the Upzones LockNWin, the Almighty Wild, the Bonus Pots, and the Jackpot Wheel. These get paired with a 5x4 layout with twenty paylines, where win combos are determined by an RTP of 96.02% and a high volatility math model. All these things can lead to you snagging prizes up to 25,000x on this mythological spinner.

The name – Alpha Gods: Zeus tells you what motif this gaming product implements and who is its main character. It is the greatest Greek god of all, the one of thunder, Zeus, king of Mount Olympus. Based on my research he is in almost three hundred Internet reel-spinning adventures.

In Alpha Gods: Zeus, Greece’s sky father appears as a grey-foxed bodybuilder like he usually does on digital reels. The presentation in this PearFiction creation includes the classic Ancient Greece font that I have seen in many other additions to this genre, and it goes all in on its colorful, cartoony graphics.

The animations here are a bit too GIF-like for my taste, and I hate that Alpha Gods: Zeus includes the classic machine game sound effects and other cliché audio elements.

As far as the controls go, you find all the main ones right off the reel grid, with the bonus buy button hovering in the top right corner. 

Playing Alpha Gods: Zeus is easy. You click the two-chip stacks icon and select how much you wish to bet. You can choose between 20c and $50 per spin. After you set your wager amount, the next step is clicking the semi-transparent circular arrow above the bet selector. It is almost identical to the one you see in Pragmatic Play slots.

How the base game in Alpha Gods plays out is super familiar. Line wins here start from the leftmost one, and prize combos must get formed on adjacent reels, with only the highest line win getting paid out. You need three or more matching symbols for a win.

The five royals – A, K, Q, J, and 10, produce rewards of 1x for five-of-a-kind combinations. The four character symbols yield wins of 2.5x to 10x when five heroes from this batch stop in view on a spin. 

Alpha Gods: Zeus has a host of different feature symbols and has three wilds. These are the regular, almighty, and multiplier ones. 

The Almighty Wild feature in Alpha Gods Zeus slot activates when Almighty Wilds appear. These fill a progress bar for a series of bonuses. They can create an electrified zone where all symbols within it turn wild. Those can expand with double lightning bolts. Then you may get awarded respins, trade low-pay tokens for higher value ones, have stacked wilds show up, and upgrade existing wilds with multipliers up to x10.

• Minor - up to 100x
• Mini - up to 25x

You get the opportunity to spin this Jackpot Wheel by collecting Jackpot coins. Each collected one increases a Jackpot by 1x. Collecting one or more gives you a chance to spin the Jackpot Wheel.

I should not forget to add that you can only buy entry into the Upzones LockNWin feature in Alpha Gods: Zeus after bonus symbols have been unlocked.

I am not going to spin you a fake yarn. I messed up in my Alpha Gods: Zeus session, as I started playing this game without really understanding its bonus features. That is not a good idea with these progress bar slots with loads of symbols.

I had to step away two dozen spins in. Open the info page again to get a decent grasp of what was happening on the grid. By the time I did that, I was up $6. Knowing what is occurring in an online slot is not necessary for success, as all these games play themselves. 

After some two hundred spins, I was doing fairly well, up $62, and I decided to call it quits. In truth, I primarily got stuck playing the base game since I did not manage to get too deep in the bonuses. But that did not stop me from walking away a victor.

I was surprised by Alpha Gods: Zeus, another solid release from PearFiction. While I would have liked to see a more engaging presentation with better audio, I did not expect this slot to have as many features as it did and for them to be as thought out as they are here.
