As for the layout, all the controls are situated in a bar beneath the reels. This makes them easy to access on mobile devices which is how most players choose to play these days.

• Red lucky charm: adds x2, x3, or x5 multipliers on each respin. It only affects new cash prizes and jackpots that land after it activates.
• Blue lucky charm: blue pots with random values can also land. They’re added to a random number of gold pots, which can enhance the bonus round several times. Blue pots transform into gold pots with random values in the end.

The slot doesn’t have a bonus buy option or an ante bet. Some may find it disappointing, but as I said, the bonus feature triggers often.

Area Link Luck 4 Lucky Charms didn’t offer anything out of the ordinary during my session. It’s still an Area Link experience, with features that are mostly similar to any of the other slots. The lucky charm upgrades are a bit different but not that much of a dealbreaker, and it’s hard to trigger them all during the Link & Win spins.

I set my bet at $1 and started spinning to see how the base game works. It’s a highly volatile slot, so don’t expect wins on each spin. With that being said, the Area Link feature does trigger more often, so the wins kind of balance out after a while. 

I couldn’t get past the purple and red lucky charm upgrades. To be honest, the purple double array upgrade charm is the standout feature, as playing on two grids doubles the slot’s max. win potential.

Area Link Luck 4 Lucky Charms isn’t the Area Link slot I’ve been waiting for. It’s still very much stuck in the past, with familiar features and only a few differences. The lucky charm upgrades are a breath of fresh air, but not that fresh, as they still offer already-seen features present in many online casino slots. The double array charm shakes things up, but there’s no guarantee you’ll trigger it at all.
