The slot, as its name might have given away, is another entry in the increasingly hectic "Book of..." field. How does Book of Madness stack up to other "Book of..." titles? Gamomat is not a studio famous for its creative designs, but Book of Madness is definitely one of the studio’s better offerings in this department. The aforementioned hospital provides the backdrop for the action. The hospital's walls are splattered with blood dripping onto the reels, providing quite a scary atmosphere for the action. 

The nurse character is one of several symbols on the grids, with various pieces of hospital equipment being given a gruesome makeover. A spooky soundtrack plays as you spin the reels, while a menacing voice-over welcomes you to the action at the beginning. 

Overall, while the slot does not meet modern design standards, I found this to be one of the better Gamomt games from a visual perspective. 

The Book of Madness slot is far from being made when it comes to gameplay setup. The game uses a 5x3 grid, with a maximum of 10 paylines on each spin. You are free to flick between 5 and 10 paylines on every spin. Personally, I recommend getting the most out of the game and playing it with 10 lines. 

Book of Madness is one of several titles from Gamomat that uses the popular "Book of..." gameplay mechanic made famous by Novomatic’s Book of Ra. 

The round is triggered when you land three or more Scatter symbols. The round awards an initial 10 free spins. To begin, a random symbol is selected as the Bonus Symbol for the duration of the spins. This can be any symbol other than the Book, which is the Scatter. Whenever this lands during the spins, it will expand to fill its respective reel. 

The game also has two Gamble options, which are triggered whenever you land a win. The Card Gamble involves guessing the color of a face-down card to double your money. The Ladder Gamble requires players to continue to advance up a ladder, with the chance of doubling or losing money on every step. 

I tested the Book of Madness slot game on my laptop and iPhone. The slot’s simple design meant that I saw no noticeable differences, with the easy control panel and simple set-up making it a fun game to play on a smaller screen. 

I switched between 5 and 10 lines and found the game more engaging with the latter as it provided a better betting range. The minimum stake is $0.10, and the maximum is $100, which I think should cover most budgets.

The Book of Madness slot, while having a fun theme, is a very simple slot offering from Gamomat. The "Book of..." gameplay mechanic is one of the most commonly used in the industry, and while the theme feels a little different, the gameplay is very much the same as it is in all of the other slots. The maximum win of 5,000x your stake is not strong enough, but there is little else here that is likely to attract new players.
