Perhaps the most impressive thing about this slot is the great look and feel. It has a cartoonish vibe that looks amazing, with characters developed in unique fashion specifically for this slot. Depths of Fortune has a 5x4 setup which looks classic at first glance. There’s another reel for the special features on the left side which doesn’t spin like the rest of them. 

I have to praise the developer’s efforts when it comes to the audio-visual experience. The slot looks almost like a steampunk machine, with vaguely designed characters that look like they jumped out of a comic book.

There’s the captain and his trusty crew mates in addition to standard and colossal coins and wilds. The wild is a deep-sea submersible that can help you find the hidden treasures. The set of symbols is completed with card royals that pay significantly less than the premiums.

The slot’s easy to play thanks to the great layout. All of its controls are in the lower right corner, so you can easily access them whether you're playing the game on desktop or as a mobile slot. 

To start playing Depths of Fortune, you’ll need to place a bet first. Choose between 10c and $100 per spin and when you’re ready, press Spin. There is also the autoplay option that allows you to play up to a hundred auto spins. Playing the slot is straightforward. You need three or more symbols to match on the reels to hit a win. The submersible wild can link wins but it doesn’t pay on its own.

The title also features cascading wins, even though it’s not one of Megaways slots. Each win triggers a cascade that will continue to pile up as long as there are winning combinations on the grid.

The main highlight of this slot is the so-called Loaded Reel. It’s located on the left side of the slot machine. The Trigger Zone is located in the top right corner cell. While the reels are spinning, the blanks and rewards on the Loaded Reel move upwards from the bottom. If a reward ends up in the trigger zone, it will activate it.

There are several rewards you can land this way. They include:

The Depths of Fortune slot doesn’t have any free spins. Instead, it has a Hold & Win feature, which is triggered with five or more coins on the screen. The game starts with three lives. One life is consumed only on losing spins with no coins on the grid. Every coin that lands on it will reset the counter to three lives. New Loaded Reel rewards appear on every spin and move up with each cascade.

During the feature, rewards come with extra lives, a chest collector, visible coin upgrades, and multipliers. Regular coin values are between 10x and 100x, while the colossal coins pay 500x-5,000x.

There is also the bonus buy option, which lets you enter the bonus round with five starting coins for 60x the bet.

Depths of Fortune was a pretty fun slot to play. While it’s not innovative in terms of winning ways or cascades and the Hold & Win bonus, the Trigger Zone adds a lot of fun into the mix. Those modifiers offered a decent boost to my wins even before I reached the Hold & Win feature.

I didn’t need to buy my way in, and it took around 30 spins to trigger the bonus. The Hold & Win feature is one of my favorites, and I can honestly say it’s as rewarding as it gets. Overall, it was a fun slot to play, and I expect it to be a huge hit in casinos online.
