DJing is also something that I have found lends itself well to online slot games. DJ Fox certainly knows how to get you in the mood to party. The game’s design was one of my favorite things about it. The slot’s reels are positioned like speakers, with the titular DJ sitting off to the right, spinning the decks and setting the mood. There is always something infectious and fun about DJ or clubbing-themed slots, and Push Gaming has done an excellent job with this one. Unsurprisingly, the soundtrack is upbeat, helping to further immerse players into the club. Flashing lights play around the screen, and there is a multiplier ladder off to the left-hand side. Overall, I found the design to be one of the game’s biggest selling points. 

The first thing I immediately noticed when I loaded up DJ Fox was that the game grid was laid out differently from traditional free slot games. The title uses the Push-Up mechanic, which was first introduced by Push Gaming in the Generous Jack slot. 

There are five rows spread across three reels. The number of active rows can be adjusted by you, with more rows costing a higher stake. The default setting is one active row. Two, three, four, or five will cost 2.5x, 5x, 7.5x, and 10x your stake, respectively. 

The slot uses the Win What You See mechanic, where there are no standard symbols. Instead, players land either empty spaces, multipliers up to 9, or VIP symbols. When a multiplier lands on an active row, it is divided by ten and paid out. Payouts are valued on your original stake and not on the adjusted amounts. 

I found the DJ Fox slot to be a little thin on the ground with bonus features, but the ones that were there did complement the unique set-up of the game grid. 

When a VIP symbol lands on the reels, it is collected, and it triggers a respin. On the respin, the next row on the grid is unlocked. The symbol is then added to the Multiplier Ladder at the side of the reels. 

When a multiplier becomes active on the meter, it will be applied to any wins on the reels. The Meter resets at the end of any respins sequence. The only way this doesn’t happen is if the Meter Lock feature is activated. This occurs at random and will lock all multipliers and rows in place for the next paid spin. 

I had a fun experience playing the DJ Fox slot for real money. The game allows you to play for wagers between $0.10 and $100, which I found to be a healthy betting range. This can be adjusted at any time beneath the reels. 

During my test run for the game, I played around a lot with the different reel options, finding that the best way to enjoy the game was to have all of the reels active. However, this is the most costly way of playing, with a full bet costing you 10x your stake. One of the best things about the game is that it is still hugely enjoyable on the lower reel settings. 

Wins were tough to come by due to the volatile nature of the game, but increasing the number of active reels did see an increase. I would recommend taking the DJ Fox slot demo for a spin for free before playing for real money. This will give you a good opportunity to try out the game’s unique payout system and decide whether it is going to be fun for you. Unfortunately, there is no bonus buy option in the game. 

In my opinion, the DJ Fox slot has a solid math model. The RTP adjusts slightly when you change the number of active rows, with the best available being 96.28%. Other versions of the slot have also been released by Push Gaming, so be sure to check the RTP before you spin. The maximum win is a solid 10,000x your stake, and the slot is highly volatile, which reflected my own experience in the game.

The Push-Up gameplay mechanic from Push Gaming helps the DJ Fox slot stand out from the pack. While I think the game would have benefited from some more bonus features, I found the base game to be enjoyable, and there were some nice sequences once I got on the Multiplier Meter. I did find the game to be a little repetitive after a while, with the lack of bonus rounds, meaning it never really mixes things up. 

If you do enjoy the Push-Up feature, then I would recommend trying out the Generous Jack slot, which is the first time Push Gaming has utilized it. If you enjoy the theme but want something with more features and bigger winning potential, then both Jammin' Jars and Jammin' Jars 2 are excellent examples of the kind of slots Push Gaming is capable of. 

Overall, if you are looking for something a little different with some solid winning potential, I think you should consider taking DJ Fox for a spin.
