Epic Dreams certainly looks like the kind of slot game that makes you drool, but there’s got to be more to a game besides the quality of the design, which is why I am here to review every aspect of play.

The slot opens with a sloth in pajamas who is awoken by the sounds of a new theme park in the area. Step into the game as we have this gorgeous hazy park with scaffolding, trees, and hung lights that make Epic Dreams look very dreamy. Tap or click on the rollercoaster to make its way down the tree. To the left of the game is the gleeful-looking sloth who stares at the slot. 

The slot layout out provides a 7x6 grid, which gives the game 117,649 ways to win. This is a tumbling reels game that features a lot of stone blocks that need to be destroyed to take advantage of the massive layout. 

So, tumbling reels slots work very differently from your normal slot machine. Rather than have spinning reels, symbols drop in and out of the game. Symbols that form wins explode from their position and are replaced by the symbols above them dropping into their space. The newly vacant space left by those symbols dropping is then replaced by altogether new symbols that drop into the game. You need 3 or more matching symbols to land on adjacent reels to constitute a win. 

However, before all of that, you need to first set your bet value that is paid per spin. The cost of play starts at $0.10 and rises to $200 a spin. Now, once you have set your bet, press the spin button to begin the drops. One of the big advantages of tumbling reels slots is that the regeneration of symbols and dropping symbols can trigger consecutive wins, all from a single spin.

This motion and design of play very much gives such tumbler slot games longevity. Now, during the drops, four random blocks will be highlighted with blue edging. These are called non-stone blocks, and, at times, can contain coin values that are awarded and times against your bet if destroyed.

Their destruction will lead to all other blocks in that row being removed. If you manage to destroy all blocks, that’s when you can activate the special bonus round. 

Epic Dreams comes with 3 main bonus features to trigger.

Bonus Picks: If you wipe out all stone blocks, this round becomes triggered. Once this happens, you will get the choice of playing the Dig Bonus or the Build Bonus. However, there is a Super Bonus stone that appears, and if this breaks, then players can pick the Super versions of each bonus. This will give you more spins to play with at the start.

Dig Bonus: This bonus rewards 5 free spins (10 in Super mode), and with each third row destroyed in play, you will receive a new free spin. Features of this bonus round include Coin Add, Upgrade, and Wild Add. These features can be activated by opening a Treasure Chest. Not only do they hold features, but also Super Orbs. If you collect three orbs, the game will upgrade to the Super Dig Bonus. The game has 50 levels to destroy, and should you reach the bottom of the rows, you will be faced with the 5,000x multiplier block. This round of gaming sees you deep underground with a new set of reels.

Build Bonus: This bonus round takes you up in the trees and starts with 3 bonus rounds. In each round, there are 3 drops, and these may or may not fill the rows. When they do, you will move up a level and, in doing so, increase the multiplier that impacts the size of your win. Should you climb up the 50 scaffolded levels, you will be faced with a 5,000x multiplier box. This round of gaming includes the Treasure Chests, which can unlock special features like Coin Add, Filler, and +1 Drop. The Orbs can also feature, which leads to the Super Build Bonus when getting all 3. 

Bonus Buy: The trolley icon with BUY is the game's bonus buy feature. You can either buy your way into the Super Bonus rounds or opt for the Bonus Pick, which is the least costly of the two bonus options. 

Relax Gaming can make great real money slots online, and they can make bad ones. The look of this game gives me plenty of positives, but I’m also not a fan of tumbling reels slot games. I loaded this game from my online casino, made the necessary deposit, and played the game at $2 per spin across 50 spins.

For the first few drops, nothing much happened. A few wins here and there of smaller values than by bet. At times, consecutive wins would happen, but they never got beyond three in a row, which meant I never landed the bonus rounds. My highest win was $5.50, and ultimately, the game ended in me having nothing to cash out. It was all very predictable gameplay, which I have endured in other slot games of the same style. 

The max you can win is 5,000 times your bet. If you bet at $200 per spin, that equates to a max jackpot payout of $1,000,000! The RTP comes in at 96.10%, with the volatility unsurprisingly programmed to a high setting.

My experience wasn’t great, but I like the design of this game. I like how the bonus rounds work, taking the game to new areas and forming wins in different ways. For this, I do recommend you play Epic Dreams by Relax Gaming. However, I would stress the warning of it being a bit dull and with a high volatility setting, it can be costly to play.
