It’s easy to become excited about a new horror slot release, especially when they put a pun in the title. However, this is a Reel Kingdom development powered by Pragmatic Play, and this always spells disaster.
Fangtastic Freespins looks the part, but before you begin frothing at the mouth with excitement, take heed. This game will be as basic as slot games online come. And to prove this, I will be facing the Fangtastic Freespins slot game with real money, a cross, the bible, and garlic bread.
This review will cover my experience of the slot as I divulge how the Pragmatic Play casino game performs, the design, what features are available, and the settings surrounding the RTP and volatility. In addition to this information, you will have immediate access to the game’s demo.
This free slot demo is available to all Android and iOS users. It is the perfect practice tool and will help you decide if Fangtastic Freespins is the kind of game you would want to play for real money or not.
If it is, you can find the perfect online casino through Casinos.com. These sites also provide users with free spin welcome bonuses and cash rewards.
Pragmatic Play and the Reel Kingdom development team have really kept it simple for this game. Sure, you have the Teen Wolf-like character, the swirling fog, and the 80s-style backing track, but it’s all very uninspired. The slot grid takes the design of a cemetery gate and comes with 3 rows, 5 reels, and 10 paylines.
This game doesn’t really appeal to me given the huge lack of in-play features.
First, load Fangtastic Freespins from any of the top 10 casinos that are reviewed by Casinos.com. Once the game has opened, select the value of what you’d like to bet per spin. The gaming costs go from $0.10 to $250 ($375 with Ante Bet). Select the price of betting by using the + and – buttons to cycle through the values. Once you have picked your price, you can start playing Fangtastic Freespins for real money.
Select the Spin button or the Auto-play option and the reels will start to rotate. By landing three or more matching symbols, you produce a winning result. These must land going from left to right, starting on reel 1. They must also align to match any one of the ten paylines. The top symbol to match up is the silver bullets, and two or more of these will give you a payout. Next, you have the flower, the poisonous potion, the dagger, and the image of the moon. The lower-value symbols of this game are 10, J, Q, K, and A.
Now, spinning the reels is about 99% of your task as a player. The 1% is crossing your fingers hoping that the higher-valued symbols produce a win. But that’s just the basics of play. There is a special feature, sadly just the one, but it’s the game’s free spins bonus round.
Free Spins Bonus: Unlock the bonus game with the scatter symbols. Three scatters win you 10 free spins. Four scatters reward you with 15 spins, and all five scatters return 20 free bonus spins.
During the bonus game, you can win any of the Money Symbol values that land alongside a Wild symbol. With each Wild that lands, you will also earn an extra free spin.
The round also includes a Blood Meter, which is a multiplier feature. This multiplier value increases with each win made.
With every sixth Wild you land, you will retrigger the bonus round, which will give you 8 free spins and an increased multiplier. If you manage to retrigger the bonus game for a third time, you will win the maximum possible payout of the bonus game.
Also, should a Wild symbol land with no money symbols, these can suddenly and randomly pop up on the rows and reels to produce a win.
Money Symbols: The Money Symbol values range from x2 to x2,000 the value of your bet.
Bonus Buy: Players can buy their way into the bonus game at a cost of 100x the value of their bet.
Ante Bet: If you boost your bet by 200%, you increase the chances of landing the feature scatter symbols, to then play the bonus round game.
This game doesn’t really appeal to me given the huge lack of in-play features. I’ve been down this road many times with Pragmatic Play, and I think its games are just too simple and poor value for money.
I load Fangtastic Freespins and play 50 auto-spins at $1 per spin. With my first spin, I land two scatters. Close, but not the bonus. The first win comes in on spin twelve and I win $2.
The scatter symbols land again, this time, I get three and win 10 free spins. The first of these is a Super Win, and I pocket $54. With the sixth spin, I win a further $22. With the last bonus spin, I win $13 and unlock the Blood Moon Bonus. The first spin of my new 10 free spins in this bonus wins me $53.50. The next win is $20. This is then followed by a Mega Win of $44.
The bonus game ends, and in total, I have played 26 free spins and won $195.50.
As soon as the base game loads back up, I play a couple of spins, then decide to cash out $182.
Fangtastic Freespins by Pragmatic Play has a high volatility setting. The RTP is 96.51%. This may not be enough to put it on my list of the best RTP online slots, but it's a decent figure.
The jackpot is 2,100 times the value of the player’s bet. If you bet $250, the max jackpot becomes $525,000, which is poor value for money.
Something about winning money helps me forgive Pragmatic Play for all its sins of the past. The game didn’t perform in the manner I would have expected of a high volatility slot, but I’m not going to lose sleep over it as I’m now $182 better off. Would I play it again? No. This is because the volatility is too risky, and the game is poor value for money.
