The base game in the Golden Fish Tank Party slot keeps things fairly conventional. The slot uses a 6x4 game grid, with 4,096 ways to win on each spin. Wins are formed when you land three or more matching symbols across consecutive reels, starting on the leftmost reel. 

Clicking the coins beneath the reels will allow you to adjust the stake. I found the game’s betting range of $0.20-$100 to be very flexible.

I had a mixed experience when playing Golden Fish Tank for real money. I set my stake at $1 per spin and used the autospin feature for 50 spins. My initial 30 spins were pretty fruitless, with two small wins being all paid out. 

During this time, I managed to build the Multiplier up to 4x, which proved to be beneficial when I landed my first Collect win of 6x, which paid out at 24x with the multiplier applied. I would then hit another Collect win three spins later, this time for 4x, but with no multiplier active. 

The 50 spins ended without the bonus rounds triggering, so I played the slot for free and took them both for a test spin by using the Buy Bonus feature. I found them both to be rewarding in different ways, with the Cash Party Free Spins bonus looking to have the most potential for big wins. 

Like other modern Yggdrasil slots, Golden Fish Tank Party does have a disappointingly low RTP, coming in at just 94% and being below what I would consider average. The game’s maximum win of 6,000x is okay, but it is not likely to blow anybody away. Yggdrasil has given the slot a high-volatility rating. 

Golden Fish Tank Party is a departure from previous games in the series in terms of gameplay, but it maintains the same visual charms as its predecessors. Unfortunately, the gameplay changes don’t connect quite as well. 

The switch to the Cash-and-Collect gameplay style leaves the game feeling like many others in the genre, and while the two Free Spins rounds provide some good action, there is an overwhelming feeling that there are similar games elsewhere that offer more. This feeling is further compounded by the disappointing RTP and uninspiring 6,000x maximum win.
