When we think of Christmas, the idea of a moon-walking Santa-Alien parading around a destroyed Las Vegas is probably not what springs to our minds. Well, that is exactly what Play’n GO has served us with Invading Vegas Las Christmas. The game is designed to look like some sort of cheesy B-movie, with a sinister Alien invading Las Vegas and encountering all sorts of strange characters, including a Santa Elvis impersonator and a rather festive-looking old lady. 

The animations in the game are a lot of fun, with the Walking Wild sequence in particular raising a smile. We play real money slots around Christmas time with similar themes, so it was nice to play a game that opted for something a little different with the genre. 

We tested the Invading Vegas Las Christmas slot game on both an Android and iOS device. We thought the bright colors and whacky design of the game looked great on the small screen. The optimal way to enjoy the game is in landscape mode. We also tested it on popular mobile casino apps and found that it worked perfectly well. 

Play’n GO has gone wild with the theme for Invading Vegas Las Christmas, but it keeps the base gameplay very simple. The slot uses five reels, three rows, and 20 fixed paylines on each spin. Wins are formed of three or more matching symbols across a payline. 

The stake is adjusted by using a sliding scale underneath the reels. The minimum bet is $0.10, and the maximum is $50. We found this to be flexible enough; it might not accommodate some higher-roller players, but it will be fine for most budgets. 

There are several bonus features on offer in the Invading Las Vegas Christmas slot. The first you will probably encounter is the Mystery Symbol feature. Whenever you land a Mystery Symbol, all instances of it on the grid will be revealed to be matching. They can also reveal Wild Multipliers worth up to 10x. 

If you land matching symbols on reels one and two, a re-spin feature is triggered. During this, the two reels hold in place, and the other reels respin in an attempt to land a win. 

There is also the possibility to land Stacked Wilds, which are represented by the aforementioned Alien Santa. This can land on the middle reel during a respin. If it lands, it will moonwalk to the right on each respin until it reaches the end of the grid. When it moves, it can also add Mystery Symbols to a highlighted position. 

Finally, there is a Free Spins bonus. This is triggered when players land three Scatter symbols, with 12 spins being handed out. During the round, Walking Wilds move to the left instead of the right, though we don’t think this makes a huge difference to the gameplay. There is also a higher chance of stacked symbols appearing. 

The version of Invading Vegas Las Christmas we played had a 96.20% RTP rating. However, Play’n GO does release multiple versions of games, so be sure to check this before you play. We were a little disappointed with the maximum win on offer, with the game only paying out a maximum of 2,500x your stake. The slot is rated as medium volatility. 

The Invading Vegas slot was an interesting one for Play’n GO to choose for a Christmas makeover, and we found the results to be a bit of a mixed bag. Thematically, we found the game to be a lot of fun, with an alien invasion being a quirky and enjoyable choice for a Christmas slot. Gameplay-wise, the bonuses are solid, and there were some great sequences during our test run. However, the game is let down in the winning department, with a maximum win of 2,500x our stake not really getting us very excited. Overall, if you want a fun Christmas slot found at top casinos, you could do worse than this, but it is not likely to be remembered long after the festive period.
