The Arthurian legend is alive and living well, thanks to slot developers. Everyone knows about Play’n GO’s Arthurian slots, which are widely considered the best in their niche. But Yggdrasil has a horse in this race, too, with the release of King Arthur 10K WAYS.
Developed by long-time partner Reel Play, this Arthurian tale uses the 10K WAYS mechanic. I’ve seen it before in other slots and in many variants, too. As one might expect, it offers 10,000 ways to win and plays out similarly to Megaways slots. Of course, there are vital differences in the mechanics and the features the developer has chosen for this slot.
In terms of specs, it’s a highly volatile ride. The King Arthur 10K WAYS slot has six reels with an additional horizontal one on top. It has a 4-5-5-5-5-4 setup, with certain symbols, such as the scatter landing two positions high and partially on the grid. As expected, the slot has tumbles and some other features worth talking about, including unlimited wild multipliers activated after each explosion. Excalibur is once again part of the action, awarding instant cash prizes during a special feature.

Yggdrasil is a champion of creating immersive and great-looking slots. King Arthur 10K WAYS is proof of it. The slot’s cartoonish depictions of King Arthur and the crowd look amazing, and so does the background. It shows a castle towering over a pond in the middle of breathtaking nature. The reels are set between two castle towers, perfectly fitting in with the theme.
Besides King Arthur, the other characters include Lancelot, Merlin, and Guinevere. Excalibur is on the reels as a special symbol, too. The layout is simple to read. All the controls are beneath the reels for easy access, regardless if you’re playing from your computer or smartphone.
The slot’s complex mechanics offer great winning opportunities, yet it’s also been toned down to fit new players.
Before you embark on this Arthurian adventure, you should check your bet first. It’s set at $1 per spin by default, which I like. However, you can go as low as 20c or as high as $25 – whatever you prefer. Once again, it’s a highly volatile slot, so I suggest being careful with your bets. Wins are formed for three to six matching symbols on the reels. The holy grail wild can help complete or improve wins, but this particular symbol only appears on the top reel.
The only symbol that pays for two matches is King Arthur himself. He’s also the highest-paying of the bunch, delivering wins of 50x the bet for six instances. The Excalibur scatter can award a nice cash prize at any time, but it needs to be fully visible on the reels for that. It doesn’t appear on the top reel.
Similar to Megaways slots, King Arthur 10K WAYS mainly relies on tumbles. The tumble feature removes all respective winning symbols from the grid, with new symbols dropping on from above to fill them out. If there’s a new winning combination, the tumbles will continue.
I was a bit disappointed to see that it’s the only special feature in the base game. There’s more action to come in the bonus round, which starts after you land three scatters.
The bonus spins round is triggered by three fully visible Excalibur scatters. You receive only three free spins to start and a cash prize for the triggering scatters. The bonus round begins with a global win multiplier that starts at x1. It goes higher by +1 after each successful tumble. The multiplier count doesn’t reset on losing spins, and whenever a new scatter land fully visible, the count resets to three.
In that way, the bonus spins round is somewhat of a bridge between a regular free spins round and a Hold & Spin bonus. However, you don’t need six coins, but rather three scatter triggers to start it.
I often like what Reel Play and Yggdrasil whip up, and it was the same with King Arthur. While I’m not a big fan of Arthurian tales, it’s safe to say that I’m a big fan of this one. The slot’s complex mechanics offer great winning opportunities, yet it’s also been toned down to fit new players. In short, you won’t be confused by playing this slot regardless of the 10,000 ways to win.
There’s not a lot of features. The slot mainly relies on scatter prizes and tumbles. The bonus round doesn’t reinvent the wheel; instead, it goes with a special feature that combines the best elements of bonus spins and Hold & Spins features. But, overall, the slot is fun to play, and the decent winning potential is another reason why I liked it.
The King Arthur 10K WAYS slot has a flat RTP figure of 96%. That’s the average for a highly volatile slot game and works in synergy with the math model. The maximum projected win sits at 9,141x the bet.
King Arthur 10K WAYS is a fun Arthurian legend with decent features. It could easily pass up for a Megaways slot game since the features are more or less the same. There are tumbles, a wild multiplier in the bonus round, and the addition of scatter pays in the base game. But, overall, it’s still a fun ride, backed up by the great visuals and animations that we’ve seen in the best Yggdrasil slot games featured at legit online casinos.
If you’re looking for more 10K WAYS slots, there’s plenty to pick from. Reel Play and Yggdrasil have previously worked on Shamrock Money 10K WAYS or Bananaz 10K WAYS, two slots with the same mechanic, yet a different setting you might like more.

Yes, you can. The slot’s demo should be available at most Yggdrasil casinos. Some gaming platforms might even let you play it for fun without registration. When you play for free, you’ll be able to check the features first-hand and see if you like the slot and its mechanics.
You can play the King Arthur 10K WAYS slot for real money at any Yggdrasil casino. However, this time, you’ll need to join the site in order to make a deposit. That should be easy enough – just follow the on-screen instructions, and you’ll sign up in a jiffy so you can play for real money returns.
The King Arthur 10K WAYS slot was released on January 18, 2024.
Yes, it does have a free spins bonus round. Three fully visible Excalibur scatters trigger it. You only receive three bonus spins, but each scatter on the reels resets the tally back to three. On top of that, you also get a global win multiplier that starts at x1 and builds up by +1 on each tumble win.
The RTP is set to 96%. That’s spot on for highly volatile slots. While I would have liked to see a higher RTP, that’s not possible due to the large number of winning ways and the features. Plus, that’s the average RTP figure for the most highly volatile slot games in the industry.
