We have a sequel! In follow up to the release of Lobster Bob’s Crazy Crab Shack, we are now presented with Lobster Bob’s Sea Food and Win It. For this review, I take on the game and share my firsthand experience. I discuss the many features, rewards, performance, and software.
There is plenty to discuss, and like the first game, this review comes with the free-to-play demo, should you want to test the game yourself. Now, let’s dive in, as there is a wealth of things to explore.
Lobster Bob’s Sea Food and Win It by Pragmatic Play out a classic 3-row by 5-reel slot with 20 paylines. The game's design is set under the sea, with the Lobster’s shack hosting a prize board menu and Lobster Bob standing to the right of the reels. There are clams under each of the 5-reels, with a boiling bot to the left of the game. There’s lots of animated movement in the game, from the bubbles to the fish passing in the background.
At first glance, Lobster Bob’s Sea Food and Win looks like a game that is going to fill you up and still leave you wanting more. I’m not too keen on ocean-themed games, but Pragmatic Play does know how to make a very good game.
You’ll easily find Lobster Bob’s Sea Food and Win It inside of all the top casinos online because Pragmatic Play is one of the most in-demand game developers in the business. Once you access the casino, make a deposit, load the game, and first set your betting limit. You pay per spin, and with Lobster Bob’s Sea Food and Win It, bets begin at $0.20. The cost of play rises to a max bet value of $240 ($360 with Ante Bet). Once set, you begin the game by selecting the spin button.
With Lobster Bob’s Sea Food and Win It, there are 20 paylines to help you win. This is done by landing three or more of the same symbols across any of these paylines. The more symbols match on a payline, the more you win in return. The patterns of these paylines can be seen via the slot’s paytable. You can access this paytable by selecting the Information button. From this paytable, you can also see the individual values for each symbol, read about the bonus features, and understand the game rules and some of the programming.
The symbols being used in this game include Lobster Bob, a crab burger, fish salad, shrimp salad, and calamari. These are the higher-valued symbols, with the cheaper ones being the classic lettering A, K, Q, J, and numbers 10 and 9.
The game includes a crab in a cage symbol with the monetary value shown on the menu board to the left of the game. If you land three or more of these symbols, you will win amounts that are a multiple of your wager. 3 crab symbols = x1, 4 crab symbols = x2, 5 crab symbols = x5, 6 crab symbols = x10, 7 crab symbols = x20, 8 crab symbols = x50, 9 crab symbols = x100, and 10 crab symbols = x500.
The game also comes with a bonus round for free spins. Land 3 of the game’s shrimp bucket free spins symbols, and you will activate the round. Just before you play, a mini-game decides the number of spins you win and the multiplier you also get. Up to 30 free spins can be won, and a multiplier of up to x5 is included. Additional free spins can be won during this bonus game.
That’s not all… You may have also noticed the clams underneath each reel. If you land a symbol containing a pearl, these are collected under each clam, and if they remain open, you might unlock the Hold & Spin feature. In this feature, you play using special money symbols on a new slot layout. The symbols are golden crab coins. These come with values ranging from x1 to x50, which is your stake value. The game is simple: you need to land as many coins as possible before your spins run out. Each coin that lands will reset your spin counter back to 3.
Now, you don’t have to play the base game of Lobster Bob’s Sea Food and Win It to trigger the bonus features. Instead, you can pay for the privilege. The slot comes with Bonus Buy features. For the standard Free Spins, the cost is 50x your bet amount per spin. The Hold & Spin bonus is also 50x your betting value. The game also comes with an Ante Bet feature that increases your bet by 50%. In turn, it increases the chances of landing the needed features to unlock the bonus rounds.
At first glance, Lobster Bob’s Sea Food and Win looks like a game that is going to fill you up and still leave you wanting more. I’m not too keen on ocean-themed games, but Pragmatic Play does know how to make a very good game.
I loaded Lobster Bob’s Sea Food and Won It from my online casino, made my deposit, and played 50 auto spins at $2 per spin. It didn’t take long to land the bonus round. On spin 7, I hit three free spins and was presented with three shrimp buckets to choose from. I landed 15 free spins and an x2 multiplier. During this free spins bonus game, I won $37.00, over a total of 21 spins, which included the additional ones won in the round.
On spin 23, I landed the Hold & Spin feature, which led to a $30 win. At this point, I realize that this game is taking forever to complete, so I am getting value for money. There are so many features that trigger the animation to play out. I hit a huge $20 win from landing six crab symbols.
Anyway, at the end of my first-ever play on Lobster Bob’s Sea Food and Win It, I could cash out just over $10.
Lobster Bob’s Sea Food and Win It is programmed with a high volatility setting and comes with an RTP score of 96.04%, which is average for a Pragmatic Play slot machine. The jackpot is capped to a total payout that is 3,000 times your betting value if you spun the reels at $360 a go, which gives a possible jackpot return of $1,080,000.
Firstly, it doesn’t play like a high-volatility game, but that could have been just luck. The slot was highly entertaining but was ultimately let down by the low jackpot. For a high volatility slot machine, I expect something over a million if spinning the reels at $240 a pop.
Would I play it again? Maybe it was entertaining enough to merit another go. If you enjoy the game, I recommend you try these alternatives in the same category.
