Magnificent Power Bastet is an Oros Gaming slot released on Games Global’s platform. As the name suggests, it’s an Egyptian adventure dedicated to the ancient Egyptian goddess of the sun, Bastet. Represented in a cat form, Bastet was worshipped in Bubastis and known as a fierce warrior goddess.

The slot comes with the Magnificent Power feature I’ve previously tried in Magnificent Power Zeus. It seems that Games Global’s series with this feature is set in an ancient mythology sandbox. The slot’s main feature revolves around a collection mechanic, more specifically, the Bastet Wild. The goddess can collect all coins from the reels, which then fill a meter that unleashes new features.

Magnificent Power Bastet is a 5x4 slot with a locked 6^th reel. The reels are set in front of a beautiful background with golden sands and pyramids in the distance.

It’s accompanied by a matching soundtrack and excellent sound effects. When it comes to the layout, it’s safe to say the slot has adopted a minimalistic approach. So, you only have a few of the most important buttons on the right and the menu with a guide and a paytable beneath the reels.

Playing the Magnificent Power Bastet slot is easy. First, you need to set a bet between 20c and $100 per spin. The action takes place on a 5x4 grid with 30 fixed paylines. You need three or more matching symbols for a win. Bastet can step in as a stacked wild on reel 1 to substitute for missing symbols in winning combinations.

She can also land with a random multiplier wild of x2, x3, or x5. The goddess collects all the coins as well. Those are the tiny cat eyes attached to any symbol. Right above the reels is a meter for them. When you collect 30 coins, all stacked wilds turn to multiplier wilds. If you manage to collect 60 coins – which isn’t as hard as you might think – you’ll unlock the 6^th reel and trigger the free spins bonus.

Additionally, the replace feature can kick in on any losing spins. All symbols will be replaced except for the wild. The replacing symbols are all premiums, and a win is guaranteed. Turning a losing spin into a winning one is a great feature in a base game, and it makes for numerous fun moments.

A multiplier symbol lands only in the base game, and it comes in the form of a scarab. The free spins multiplier is displayed above the reels. Each scarab that lands on the reels increases the multiplier by 0.5x, with a maximum of x10. When the free spins round ends, the multiplier resets to x4.

Magnificent Power Bastet’s free spins round can be triggered in two ways. The first one is traditional – land three or more scarab bonus symbols to trigger the bonus round. Alternatively, you can collect 60 coins to reach the bonus round and unlock the 6^th reel. The maximum number of free spins you can claim is 20 with six scatters.

The multiplier you earn in the base game becomes active in the bonus round. Random wild multipliers may appear on wild stacks. Free spins can be retriggered in the same way you triggered them. The replace feature doesn’t work in the bonus round, but you’ll have ample winning opportunities to win big.

Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait for the bonus round to kick in, as there’s no bonus buy option.

Magnificent Power Bastet mixes a few familiar features into one big Egyptian party. I had decent luck in the base game, hitting solid wins thanks to the medium volatility. I absolutely loved the replace feature,  which came to my rescue on losing spins several times.

What I can say about this slot is that it definitely needs a bonus buy option. Not that there’s no way of reaching the bonus round, but it takes too many spins. I managed to collect 60 coins for the free spins round with a starting multiplier of x4. It ended without any retriggers and a 65x prize, which wasn’t bad. But, if I had a decently-priced bonus buy option, I’d try it again.

Magnificent Power Bastet has an RTP of 96.20% paired with medium volatility. The slot’s maximum projected win is 1,482x the bet.

Magnificent Power Bastet is not the most innovative slot in terms of theme or gameplay features. But what it does is it does well, with second chances on losing spins, stacked and multiplier wilds, and a free spins bonus on top. The winning potential is decent, and there’s great potential behind this series that I’m eager to see more of.
