Just when I thought the dead couldn’t rise once more to annoy the hell out of me, Play’n GO decided that their long over-blown series was in need of a new follow-up. After all, it has only been about three months since they released Banquet of Dead.
The …of Dead series kicked off with the release of Rise of Dead back in 2016. Since then, the Dead seem keen to avoid the land of sleep and keep popping up in slot games like Scroll of Dead and Pilgrim of Dead. It’s all a bit too much of the same old same old. How about just a nice game of the Dead visiting a fun fair, or enjoying a spot of gardening in the Hydrangeas of Dead? Anyway, the Egyptian afterlife seems to suck, so the Dead have eloped to the Oasis of Dead.
In this review, I reveal much more than the moaning and eye-rolling that I have already put into this review. I discuss the software performance and programming, game design, and potential payout, along with bonus rounds and special features.
There is also the standard free-to-play slot game that comes with all reviews at Casinos.com. Play the Oasis of Dead for free and also discover the best online casino sites hosting them as real money games.
The Oasis of Dead slot by Play’n GO transports us to somewhat of an unfamiliar setting. It is an oasis of Eastern delights, where the sights and sounds are more Asian than Egyptian. But hey, I’m not a historical geologist, could be Baltimore for all I care. But, yes, being a Play’n GO slot, the design is exquisite. The layout of the game brings about a 5-reel and 3-row setup that carries ten paylines.

Playing Oasis of Dead is no different from the many thousands of other …of Dead slots that came before it. When the game loads from your casino, be sure to set your betting before you play. Bets are paid per spin played, and Oasis of Dead defaults to $2 when it loads. To change the cost, you have three ways of determining the value: Coin Value, Coins, and Lines.
Increasing or decreasing any of the values will impact your overall betting value. Always pick an amount you can afford to spend and always remain within budget – betting costs per spin range from $0.01 to $100.
With the bet set, press the spin button to start playing. The reels will spin, and wins will be highlighted and paid out when three or more of the same symbols appear on any of the ten paylines. The payline patterns can be found within the paytable (click the information button). You will also find symbol values, bonus features, and game rules in the paytable.
The highest-valued symbol is the Wild. Below it are the Pharaoh, crocodile, cobra, and scarab beetle. Then there are the lesser-valued symbols – A, K, Q, J, and 10. When a win is formed, you are presented with a Gamble feature. This is optional; you can gamble or collect. If you gamble, you will play a mini-card game. Choose the right suit or color of the card to increase your winnings.
Play is a continuation of pressing the spin button and hoping enough wins land to allow you to make a cash-out by the time you are done playing. The reverse of this is ending without any wins and having to finish because your budget has ended. However, there is more to the game, which includes special symbols and bonus features.
Free Spins: Land three or more bonus scatter symbols to unlock the main bonus game of Free Spins. During the round, there will be expanding symbols to help increase your chances of winning big. The special symbol that expands will be randomly selected before the first free spin is played. The feature can be re-triggered to help you unlock nine expanding symbols.
I can’t pretend and say I was looking forward to playing this game. The reality is quite the opposite. This is down to the fact that Oasis of Dead offers nothing new at all. This game is just a different skin on top of very old and tried settings.
The game was available in the best casino sites online, so I loaded it, set my bet to $1 per spin, and played 50 spins. On spin 30, I unlocked the Free Spins bonus with the Pharoah as my expanding symbol. Up until this, I had made four wins, each no more than $0.80 in value.
With my eight free spins over in a blink, my total win came to $22. Now, I did have the choice to Gamble the win, but I collected the payout instead. Very little happened after that; a few wins dropped, $12 being the largest amount. After all the 50 spins were played, I managed to break even, cashing out $0.40.
The Oasis of Dead slot is built with a high volatility program and a 96.58% RTP rating. The maximum that can be paid out is 7,000 times the value of the player’s bet. If you bet at $100 per spin, the jackpot will be $7,000,000.00, which is fantastic value for money.
Oasis of Dead is rubbish. The game offers one bonus round and one feature that is only active in the bonus round. It gives nothing to players except for a new skin to the series. Avoid it like the plague, which is sadly what this series has become within online casinos.
If you want my advice, play these three slot games instead. That way, you won’t die of boredom.

Read Full BioOasis of Dead was developed by gaming masters Play’n GO, who have dragged this series out for far too long. This game is awful, gives players no new features, and is embedded with bad programming. Play’n GO is famed for Rich Wilde and the Book of Dead, Viking Runecraft, and House of Doom.
The free demo slot of this game is embedded into this review. You can play Oasis of Dead free in its demo mode as often as you like. The game plays with any mobile device. It is always best to play demo games first before you decide to gamble with real money.

Play’n GO released the Oasis of Dead slot game on July 4, 2024. The game is far from a paradise, and it sucks in all manners. Before the release of Oasis of Dead, Play’n GO launched the following games, which are far better—Journey to Paris, Rich Wilde and the Tome of Insanity, and Spark of Genius.
The Oasis of Dead slot comes with only one bonus round. Land three or more bonus symbols to activate the bonus game, which will award you eight free spins or more. Before the game loads, a special symbol will be picked, acting as the in-play expanding symbol for the bonus game.
The Return to Player (RTP) for Oasis of Dead by Play’n GO comes in at a standard 96.58 percent. The RTP is a probability rating for what payback is given to a player if x number of spins is played. However, the reality is that wins are determined by luck, not math.
