I’ve been doing slot reviews for almost a decade now, and I’ve always been a hardcore fan of Push Gaming. There was something in the developer’s style that was, indeed, pushing the boundaries when it came to designing slots. That’s because its slots were always engaging, highly volatile, and thrilling, taking you to worlds beyond your imagination.

You can only imagine my surprise when I heard that the developer launched a classic, low-volatile slot, ironically called Power Vault. As soon as my shock faded off, I realized: wait, there must be a catch. And there is. Seemingly an old-school slot machine, Power Vault has a lot more to it. Sure, the symbols are suited to the theme, but the features? Not really. So, stay with me in this Power Vault review to see how Push Gaming has once again outdone itself.

Do not expect to be wowed by the look and feel of the Power Vault online slot. The background is simple, and the reels are filled with fruits, bars, and diamonds. The soundtrack, with drums stressing the beat, is cool but nothing special.

Four jackpot prizes are displayed on the left of the 3x3 grid and a there is a vault on top of it. As you enter the paytable, you see the diamond wild that gives you the highest symbol payout, 50x the stake for a 3-of-a-kind. Other symbols pay 1x to 50x the stake: sevens, bells, bars, double bars, strawberries, oranges, limes, and berries.

The coins button is on the right of the grid. Press it, and set your bet, choosing a value from 10c to $100. Now you’re all set up and ready to try it.

The base game is pretty simple, as you would expect. The diamond wild jumps in whenever you lack a symbol to create a winning combo. It substitutes for all symbols and only appears in the base game. 

Now, throughout the entire game, Instant Prize, Jackpot, and Collector symbols may land. The Collector lands in the middle, the other two symbols on the first and third reel. Instant Prize symbols come with a value of 1x to 25x the stake. The Jackpot symbols land with a Grand 1,000x, Mega 100x, Minor 50x, and Mini 15x the stake prize. When the Collector symbol lands either of these two symbols, it collects their value. If more than one Collector lands, they collect all values of Instant Prize or Jackpot symbols. When an Instant Prize symbol is collected, a dud symbol is placed on the grid instead of it.

Did I expect more from Power Vault? Yes. That's a long story short. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it comes with a twist, regardless of my initial shock when I heard the game was a classic slot. But when I started playing, I realized that I was making spin after spin without getting anything real.

Sure, I won $1,000 on my first spin worth $100, and I got an instant prize of $300 saved in the vault on my second spin. But 20 spins went by, and I still couldn't trigger the slot bonus. For a slot that was supposed to be a low volatile one, the outcome of my spins was disappointing.

The Power Vault online slot is a low volatile slot with an RTP of 96.41%. The max payout you can grab playing it is 4,112x the stake.

I couldn’t help but revisit the day I tried one of Push Gaming’s first slots, Fat Santa. I was really mind-blown by the creativity, imagination, and delivery of its team. Or when I tried Jammin' Jars and the other titles in the “Fat” series. That’s not the same feeling I got playing Power Vault, that’s for sure. If you want to see Push Gaming at its best, try anything but this title.

I’m not saying Power Vault is a disaster of a slot; far from it. It is an excellent slot among classic fruit slots. It even comes with great features that are not expected in classic slots. In fact, do try it at the best online casinos offering slots from the developer, if you’re a classic slot fan. However, it's not something you expect to see if you are a Push Gaming fan.
