While the name Scepter of Anubis sounds more like a medical tool for cleaning one's colon, it is, in fact, a slot game based on an Egyptian god by the software developer Quickspin. Well, obviously, but I would not have lived with myself had I not taken the opportunity to make a bottom joke aimed at readers who know not of this Egyptian god.
Yes, that’s the level we aim at here because bodily anatomy sells. But let’s keep this review clean, folks, as we have a slot to slide into and study just how much pleasure is achieved with a spot of gaming.
To make this review, I take all my wit, charm, and intelligence and throw them out the window. Instead, I bore you with facts about the gameplay, design, features, and software settings. Exciting stuff. That said, the free demo game is available. Make a free account with Casinos.com and access Scepter of Anubis and more than five hundred other free demo games when you want.
The Scepter of Anubis by Quickspin presents a four-row, five-reel game that hosts forty paylines. The design is very simplified and doesn’t do too much. The size of the slot covers 90% of the backdrop and is set within a stone frame. Some of the symbol animation moves, and the quality is okay. It’s not the best design I have seen, but it’s not the worst.
The Scepter of Anubis slot is not a game I would typically play, as the theme doesn’t get my juices flowing. However, Quickspin knows how to put on a good show when they get their slots spot on.
Once you have the game loaded from the best slot site, go to the Total Bet section and use the – or + buttons to select the price of your bet. Alternatively, you can select the coin stack icon to open the price listing presets. The cost of playing is something you pay per spin. The values of a single bet start at $0.10 and rise to $100. With your bet picked, you can start the game by pressing the spin button.
Pressing spin moves the reels, and the outcome of your bet is settled once the spin ends. Wins come about by landing three to five matching symbols on one of the forty paylines. The matches must start from reel 1 and work their way to the right of the slot. That is essentially all it takes to play this game. After an outcome is revealed, you make the decision to play again or move on to another game.
The Scepter of Anubis comes with a series of special features and a main bonus round. Let’s look at how these can influence your gameplay and potential to win more money.
Let's take a look at the bonus features of the Scepter of Anubis slot game below.
Expanded wild symbols that take up the full four rows also acts as the game’s bonus symbol. So not only will you win a payout for landing three or more, but you will also unlock the game’s main bonus feature.
The Scepter of Anubis slot is not a game I would typically play, as the theme doesn’t get my juices flowing. However, Quickspin knows how to put on a good show when they get their slots spot on.
I load up Scepter of Anubis and set the betting price to $1.50 per spin. The game comes with an autoplay feature, I select this and pick to play fifty auto-spins.
On the first spin, I almost landed the Anubis Wild, but it didn’t nudge. On the second spin, I landed two bonus symbols, but not the third. Four spins later, I landed two Anubis Wilds and earned two Respins. The result was a $4 win. It then took a further ten spins for the next event, which is another two Anubis Wilds. This won me $8.25 from both Respins. The hit rate of this game was fairly low. Beyond these features landing, I had only hit three general wins from standard pay symbols.
The gameplay was slow, and the features helped to prolong the game time. With twenty spins left, I was $20 short of breaking even. A few spins after, and I won a Respin and this pays out $10. As the last ten spins approached, the game settled down, resulting in more wins from standard paying symbols.
With four spins left, another Respin was triggered, and this landed two Bonus symbols. Then, the Free Spins bonus was unlocked, and eight free spins were awarded. I chose not to gamble and played on.
The bonus game returned a win of $23.10. Given I had four spins left, I cut the game early and cashed out my fortune of $3.75.
The Scepter of Anubis slot by Quickspin has a high volatility rating. The RTP is scored at 96.06% as standard. The maximum winnable payout is 10,000 times your bet. This gives you a $1,000,000 jackpot should you play the max $100 bet per spin.
The Scepter of Anubis game was all right. It’s not my usual go-to type of game, but it provided good game energy, it activated the Respin feature quite often, and I got to play the Free Spins bonus. I would recommend this slot, but play the free demo first before you commit to it with your money.
