It’s that time of the year when developers like Hacksaw Gaming release games to the tune of winter, Christmas, and all things annoyingly jolly. Yes, my idea of hell has arrived, and to further add to my disgruntlement is the release of Snow Slingers.
Join me into the void of misery and discover just how good or bad the game of Snow Slingers really is. I will be sharing all the software settings, design, performance, and gaming features, as well as discussing the rules of the game. The free demo is available for those who wish to test the game before playing the slot for real money. If you take this route, you can pick up many online casinos and the latest casino bonuses right here with Casinos.com.
Now, before I play this game, I’m just going to hammer some nails into my eyes.
The Snow Slingers slot by Hacksaw Gaming is every bit the game you would expect from this slot developer. Whilst they are incredibly good when it comes to design and animation, Snow Slingers looks bland and uncreative. Even one of the penguin characters looks as glum as I do.
So, the setting is a snowy landscape with a lake and two penguins on a wall on either side of the game. The slot has four rows and five reels. There are fourteen paylines, and you can see the patterns by selecting the menu button to open the paytable. In true Hacksaw Gaming style, 98% of the game has atmospheric noise unless a snowball gets thrown or the penguins cheer a win.

When you load Snow Slingers, start by choosing the value of what you want to bet per spin. Next to the spin button are the – and + options. Select to go through the values to wager. Bets start at the lower end of $0.10 and climb to a maximum bet of $100 per spin.
Start playing by selecting the spin button. The symbols will spin, and you’re looking for three or more matching symbols to land across any of the paylines. Winning outcomes will form from left to right, and the first symbol will be on reel 1.
The top symbols to land are the Wilds, bells, Christmas tree, stocking, teddy, and candy cane. The symbols paying the lowest returns are J, Q, K, and A.
The rules of play are the same as the 10,000 other slots online. You press spins and either win or lose. Then you repeat until you’ve either won enough or had enough of losing.
The game boasts several bonus features, so let's go through each one.
There are two types of this feature. The normal Snow-volver [blue] and the epic Snow-volver [gold]. When these symbols land, they look like a gunt cylinder with snowballs in them. The number of snowballs is what gets fired at the slot grid. The snowballs then turn into wilds. Should another snowball hit a wild symbol, it adds a multiplier. Should an epic snowball land on the reels, they immediately award a multiplier that can carry a value of up to 200x. Epic Snow-volvers can also appear in the base game.
Hacksaw Gaming often makes the same game and masks it with a different design. Snow Slingers doesn’t really escape this, so given that I know how this slot will perform, I only play with $1 spins. I set up the slot to also play fifty auto-spins.
I have to say the Snow-volver feature makes this game. A few minor wins come in the first ten spins. After this, the hit rate for wins increased, but the values returned were lower. The largest win so far is $2.40, and I am on spin twenty-two.
The game quickly becomes a bore. The slot is void of any excitement, the penguins don’t offer much, and I find myself looking forward to the game ending. After fifty auto-spins are played I end up $20 off from breaking even.
The Snow Slingers slot by Hacksaw Gaming has a medium volatility setting. The RTP is at 96.29%, which is average. The max payout is 10,000x the player’s bet. If betting at $100, that makes the jackpot $1,000,000!
The Snow Slingers game will melt into oblivion soon enough. It’s not captivating, it’s not fun, and Hacksaw Gaming has possibly made one of their worst games. If you want to play the Holly Jolly wintertime slots, then here are my recommendations.
