In celebration of International Women’s Day 2025, Global Gaming Women (GGW) hosted an exclusive event on Thursday, March 6, at Metropolitan Gaming’s Park Lane Casino in London

Generously sponsored by Metropolitan Gaming, the gathering welcomed around 40 GGW members and their guests from land-based and online casino industry for an afternoon of connection, inspiration, and empowerment.

Attendees Encouraged to ‘Bring Along a Rising Star’

In line with GGW’s ongoing mission to expand its membership and promote diversity across all levels of seniority and job functions, attendees were encouraged to bring along a female colleague from either a different department or a rising star—a junior-level professional with significant potential.

This initiative aimed to foster broader inclusion within the GGW community and highlight the importance of cross-functional collaboration and mentorship.

Guests enjoyed lunch while forging valuable new connections across the industry, much like at the IWD event hosted by GGW in Gibraltar.

The event opened with remarks from Anna Davies, who provided an update on GGW’s mentoring program that is currently running in the UK and Europe.

Anna also reflected on GGW’s successful events throughout 2024 and shared exciting plans for the year ahead, including a renewed focus on educational initiatives. Special thanks were extended to the five remarkable women who contributed to GGW’s Inspirational Women video series, shared in the lead-up to International Women’s Day.

Keynote Speech Given by Arsenal F.C’s Chief Commercial Officer

The highlight of the afternoon was a keynote address by Juliet Slot, Chief Commercial Officer at Arsenal F.C. Juliet offered an engaging and candid discussion on her career journey, sharing insights into her leadership role in one of the world’s most iconic football clubs.

Her talk touched on balancing career ambitions with parenting, strategies for managing conflict, and her role in driving the remarkable growth of women’s football in the UK.

Juliet also spoke about Arsenal’s commitment to leading the way in women’s sport and her hopes for a more inclusive future—both in football and in leadership roles across industries.

The event was hailed as a tremendous success, combining thought leadership with meaningful networking opportunities in a welcoming and inclusive environment. GGW looks forward to building on this momentum as it prepares for future events and initiatives throughout 2025.

Most of my career was spent in teaching including at one of the UK’s top private schools. I left London in 2000 and set up home in Wales raising four beautiful children. I enrolled at University where I studied Photography and film and gained a Degree and subsequently a Masters Degree. In 2014 I helped launch a new local newspaper and managed to get front and back page as well as 6 filler pages on a weekly basis. I saw that journalism was changing and was a pioneer of hyperlocal news in Wales. In 2017 I started one of the first 24/7 free independent news sites for Wales. Having taken that to a successful business model I was keen for a new challenge. Joining the company is exciting for me especially as it is a new role in Europe. I am keen to establish myself and help others to do the same.
