For a Reading woman, luck was a lady as she won over £72,000 at the Grosvenor Casino in Central Reading.

Although the identity of the winner remains a mystery, we do know she took home a whopping £72,439 jackpot via the management at the casino destination.

The life-changing win came when the mystery lady was playing a game of three-card poker. The winning hand was a royal flush, a hand with five cards of the same suit in sequential order.

One in 5,000 Chance of Being Dealt Royal Flush

We are not sure when the lady’s birthday is but all of them came at once. This was a one in over 5,000 chance of being dealt a royal flush, given there were over 22,000 possible hands she could have been dealt.

The anonymous lady did speak to reveal that she could not believe her luck. She said: “I still can’t believe this is real and it will take a while to sink in.

“My partner and I were only visiting the casino for a bit of Friday night fun, but we ended the evening absolutely elated with our winnings.

“I have no idea what we will spend the money on—I am still pinching myself that it actually happened.”

Manager Hoping Luck Will Continue at Casino

Speaking about the win at her casino, the general manager of Grosvenor Casino Reading Central, Corrinne Kolatsi, said, “What a fantastic way to kick off the new year.

“A massive congratulations to our local winner on her huge win—it was wonderful to see the venue buzzing and experience the heartwarming reaction from the couple.

“May this incredible luck continue for other players at our casino in 2025.”

I am keen to establish myself and help others to do the same.
