WSOP Bonus

The WSOP holds a special place in the hearts of poker players across the US. But to make things even more exciting for its users, it offers a range of US online casino bonuses and promotions tailored for both novices, seasoned enthusiasts and poker pros.

From an attractive welcome bonus to a generous deposit match offer, WSOP does a great job encouraging new players to join and rewarding the loyalty of its dedicated poker-playing community. Below, weโ€™ll look at some of the promotions offered by the poker site and explore what value they can bring to your card-playing experience.

WSOP Welcome Bonus

Online poker sites often provide a welcome bonus to encourage players to register with an operator. As one of the best poker sites available, WSOP offers an awesome welcome bonus for new players.

When you make your first deposit, you can grab free play bonus funds, depending on your deposit amount. This offer is one of the best on the market, as other poker sites BetMGM and Borgata only offer a limited amount of tournament tickets, compared to the free play available with online casino promo codes.

Types of WSOP Sign Up Offers

A no deposit bonus is an offer you can redeem simply by signing up. You donโ€™t have to fund your account to claim it. Currently, WSOP doesnโ€™t offer a no deposit bonus code for new customers, but if this changes in the future, weโ€™ll update this page.

In addition to its attractive welcome offer, WSOP does offer a deposit match on your first deposit. Youโ€™ll effectively double your stake with bonus funds that you can use on its extensive range of games, tournaments, and poker varieties. This deposit match bonus is awarded as a pending bonus, and youโ€™ll need to earn a specific amount of wagering points for every dollar released.

After redeeming the bonus, there is also a 90-day time limit to reach the wagering point requirement. These offers are pretty standard compared to its competitors, with BetMGM and Borgata providing new players with a similar deposit match bonus. Still, itโ€™s important to remember they offer less free play when registering than WSOP poker.

WSOP Bonus Exchange

The WSOP Bonus Exchange allows players to share their free chips through the โ€œexchange giftsโ€ feature on the desktop and mobile app. A pretty extensive online community of players on social media share these free chips amongst themselves. You can also share free chips with your friends so you can all participate in the fun! This is a relatively unique feature of WSOP, which we were really impressed with upon exploring its offering.

Free WSOP Chips

Some poker sites will give you free chips as a reward for your loyalty or to encourage you to play on the poker site. In addition to the free play bonus funds when you sign up, WSOP offers players free chips to give them more opportunities to play their favorite poker games. You can also redeem free chips on its free online poker site, giving you more opportunities to play for fun.

Where is WSOP Online Legal?

Real money online poker is legal and available in five states, and the WSOP operates in four of these: New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Nevada. Although online poker is also legal in Delaware, the WSOP is not available in the First State. Probably it is due to the small market that is not feasible as a standalone poker ring.

However, thanks to the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA) with Nevada and New Jersey, Delaware players can still join many WSOP tables and play real money games. Still, remember that WSOP Bracelet and Circuit events wonโ€™t be available if youโ€™re playing in Delaware.

WSOP New Jersey

Alongside plenty of legal land-based and online casinos in NJ, the state is also home to legal online poker sites. Launched just after the legalization of online poker in New Jersey in December 2013, WSOP is one of the top poker sites in the Garden State. WSOP shares its player pools with its Nevada and the three Delaware Lottery sites, meaning players in each state can play together in a single site. Therefore, if youโ€™re in New Jersey and playing at WSOP poker, you should easily be able to access tables, even outside of peak times.

WSOP Pennsylvania

Licensed in partnership with the Harrahโ€™s Casino in Pennsylvania (owned by its parent company, Caesars Entertainment), WSOP launched in the Keystone State in July 2021. It joined three other poker networks affiliated with Pennsylvania online casinos: BetMGM and Borgata (operating under the combined BetMGM player pool) and PokerStars.

WSOP Michigan

WSOP arrived in Michigan in March 2022, becoming the third poker room to launch in the Great Lake State alongside its 14 legal MI online casinos. Players in WSOP Michigan arenโ€™t yet included in the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA). Still, the Michigan Gaming Control Board has started combining certain operators into this agreement. Only one operator in MI has been approved to join the MSIGA; we hope WSOP MI will be included in the future.

WSOP Nevada

The home of the World Series of Poker finals, the WSOP poker room launched in Nevada in September 2013 and is currently the only legal poker network in the state. It is linked with the Delaware WSOP/888 rooms and the WSOP NJ rooms for increased player liquidity. Keep in mind that poker is the only legal game allowed at Nevada online casinos.

Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement

The Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA) is an arrangement between multiple states that allows players to gamble in online games across state borders. For poker, this means states work together to create a larger player pool and enhance the overall gaming experience while maintaining control over the industry. It has been signed between Nevada, New Jersey, Delaware, and Michigan.

Each state chooses a representative to serve on the board. The board then regulates games to ensure that the WSOP conducts them under consistent rules agreed upon by the participating states. Players from different states can participate in the same online game, making it more accessible and enjoyable for users nationwide.

How To Play on the WSOP Circuit

The best thing about the World Series of Poker is that anyone can join. Any player on the WSOP poker network is potentially the next Phil Hellmuth or Qui Ngyuen. Whether you play on the WSOP network for fun or are a seasoned pro, all you have to do is join one of the circuitโ€™s satellite tournaments.

Overall, 6,500 players yearly attempt to qualify for the WSOP Main Event. WSOP poker runs in-person and online satellites, and winners have come from both paths. Chris Moneymaker became the first online player to win the Main Event in 2003, qualifying from an online tournament.

To qualify, you must win at least $10,000 on one of these satellite tournaments to receive a Main Event ticket. However, you donโ€™t have to spend a ticket on the main event in Vegas โ€“ you can just use them for other WSOP events. If you have $10,000 and donโ€™t feel like going through a satellite, you can simply meet the buy-in by purchasing a ticket.

At the end of June, youโ€™ll begin to see WSOP event tournaments advertised on the platform. These events, like Seat Sprints (which award 112 main event tickets) and Seat Scramble (where players must go all-in until a winner is found), will be most playersโ€™ entry points to the main tournament.

WSOP Games Online

WSOP is one of the top places for extensive poker game types and offerings. The site features popular variants and mixed-game tournaments like HORSE and various tournament formats, like super turbos and satellite qualifiers.

The WSOP offers an array of poker games, including three key poker variants: Texas Holdโ€™em, Omaha, and Seven-card Stud. Texas Holdโ€™em and Omaha follow the exact same game structure. There are slight differences regarding the number of cards players start with and the combinations they can use to create their five-card hand.

Seven-card Stud is much older than Texas Hold โ€˜em and Omaha, dating back to the American Civil War era. The objective is the same: make the best possible five-card poker hand. However, the game is played differently. Check out the overviews below for a brief rundown of the rules for all three variations.

Texas Holdโ€™em

WSOP Texas Hold โ€˜em rules are the same as traditional Texas Hold โ€˜em, one of the most popular poker variants. Each player is dealt two cards, known as hole cards. These are kept secret from the other players.

There will then be a round of betting, where players can choose to check (pass and keep their cards), bet (place a wager), or fold (discard their hand of cards). What you should do depends on the hole cards. The aim is to make the best five-card hand possible using any combination of the two and five community cards.

Omaha

Omaha Hold โ€˜em is similar to Texas Hold โ€˜em but with a few twists. The game follows the exact same structure: players are dealt hole cards, place their bets, the community cards are shared, and the goal is to create the best possible poker hand.

The key differences are that each player is dealt four-hole cards instead of two. While this may seem like a small difference, it can lead to stronger hands and more action. Players must make the best hand possible using two of their hole cards and three of the five community cards. The hand rankings are the same as in Texas Hold โ€˜em, so if youโ€™re familiar with that game, you wonโ€™t have to learn anything new.

These tiny differences often result in Omaha having larger pot sizes. However, to succeed in Omaha, you must consider which cards to play carefully. The additional hole cards bring bigger possibilities to the table, making every move an opportunity to outsmart your opponents.

Other Poker Games

The final variation you can play at WSOP is Seven-card stud poker. It is one of the more traditional forms of poker. It was actually the most popular variant before Texas Hold โ€˜em took the spotlight in the 2000s. At WSOP, you can also play its variations: RAZZ and Seven-Card Stud High-Low.

In Seven-card stud poker, the players will add money to the pot they compete for before any cards are dealt. Each player is then dealt three cards: two face-down hole cards and one face-up, known as the โ€œdoor cardโ€. The player with the lowest-value door card must make a bring-in bet, usually a fraction of the lower betting limit.

Next, starting from the player with the lowest-value door card and going clockwise, thereโ€™s a betting round where players can fold (discard their hand), call (match a bet made by another player), or raise (increase the stake made by another player). More cards are then dealt, followed by another betting round. After seven rounds of cards being dealt, the remaining players reveal their hands, and the best five-card hand wins the pot.

WSOP Game Types

There are different ways to play poker and various game types. What you decide on can affect the amount of time a game takes and the amount you can win. Cash games use real money, while tournaments use chips. Players pay a buy-in fee for tournaments, with a portion going to the prize pool. Prizes are based on the playersโ€™ finishing position.

The WSOP lobby features a list of upcoming tournaments, which you can filter by game type. Once you select a tournament, the game screen reveals available tables and seating options.

Cash Games

Cash games in the world of poker are essentially games where players use real chips and put actual money at stake. Unlike tournaments, there is no predetermined end time for these games, and players can enter and leave as they wish. The game is fast-paced, which can easily draw players in.

Sit nโ€™ Go Tournaments

Sit nโ€™ Go tournaments will begin once a specific number of players enter, usually 6 to 10. The game is pretty short, lasting around 20 to 60 minutes. Players will pay a fee to join. The prize pool is formed by the entry fees and is divided among the top finishers according to a fixed structure.

Multi-table tournaments

Multi-table is the largest kind of tournament. A virtually unlimited number of players can join, creating an exciting and competitive atmosphere. Every player buys in for the same fee and receives the same number of chips to level the playing field. Since there are so many players, multi-table tournaments are the ultimate test of skill and strategy for any serious poker player.

BLAST Tournaments

BLAST tournaments are a spin on Sit nโ€™ Go games. With a random prize pool multiplier ranging from 2x to 10,000x your initial buy-in amount, you can play for impressive cash rewards! Youโ€™ll need to think fast as the blinds increase very quickly. These high-intensity tournaments typically only take a few minutes to complete, making them a perfect option if youโ€™re looking for a quick game.

WSOP Online Poker Tournaments and Events

Any poker player and enthusiast worth their salt will be very familiar with the World Series of Poker, and it shouldnโ€™t surprise anyone that the poker network shines in its tournaments. The World Series of Poker is held yearly, with 95 in-person events at the Horseshoe and Paris Casinos in Las Vegas.

One of the biggest advantages of the online poker site is the 19 online-only World Series of Poker events, which can bag players a coveted gold WSOP bracelet. There are also satellite tournaments that feed into the main World Series of Poker event.

Its marquee poker network tournament on the WSOP online platform is on Sunday, with its $100,000 guarantee tournament. This weekly event gives players the chance to pocket an awesome prize pool. World Series tournaments are also held annually, with prize pools ranging from $500,000 to $1,000,000.

If youโ€™re worried you might not be ready for a tournament that big just yet, donโ€™t worry - there are tournaments with smaller buy-ins, and some are even free to join. There are also all-in tournaments, knockouts, re-buys, deep stacks, team events, and turbos.

One thing weโ€™d like to see added in the future is a greater range of Omaha tournaments. For example, our review team only found Texas Hold โ€˜em tournaments available, which wonโ€™t cater to every playerโ€™s tastes or preferences.

WSOP Free Poker Online

Alongside its online poker site for real money, WSOP operates a free online poker site available in jurisdictions without legal online poker. Here, you can play for fun and hone your strategy. If youโ€™re a beginner, you can also learn the poker rules and practice.

WSOP Comparison to Online Poker Brands

Compared to some of the best poker sites, like PokerStars, 888, BetMGM Poker, Borgata, and Partypoker, we think WSOP stacks up well. Its welcome bonus is really generous compared to its competitors, and its Bonus Exchange feature is unique and innovative, too.

Its range of games is good and comparable with its competitors, although outside peak times, its liquidity can be low. This issue is particularly bad for certain variations of poker, like Omaha and Seven Card Stud. When we tested the platform, we experienced pretty long wait times for tables. Yet, this might be improved by including Michigan in the MSIGA in the near future and the increased liquidity itโ€™ll bring.

WSOP Desktop & Mobile Experience

Whether you wish to play poker on the go or play on your desktop and have the benefit of a larger screen, WSOP has you covered, just like most casinos for mobile. It offers players the choice of its highly-rated iOS and Android apps or desktop poker software for MacOS and Windows; WSOP poker covers all the bases.

WSOP Desktop Client

WSOP offers desktop poker software for Windows and MacOS, which you can download from the WSOP desktop site. Your operating system will be detected when you choose to download the software, so you wonโ€™t need to worry about wasting time downloading incompatible software for your machine.

Designed by 888, the leaders in the world of online poker, the software is super clean, well-designed, and intuitive. If youโ€™re new to online poker, the software will recommend beginnerโ€™s tables so you can get your bearings on the platform. The simple design and functionality are perfect for new players; online support is featured on the home page if youโ€™re having trouble using the software.

Searching between games and finding tables is simple and easy to navigate, and we didnโ€™t suffer any glitches or connection issues while at the tables. The chat feature is solid and works well, and in general, WSOP sacrifices fanciness for functionality.

However, while the design isnโ€™t complicated and is easy to understand, it could look a little more modern. We would like to see a Linux version of the software added, but we know this isnโ€™t a major issue for most poker players. Overall, WSOP delivers a solid desktop app that functions as it should and gives you a great platform to play poker on your desktop.

WSOP App

The WSOP app is available on the iOS App Store and Google Play Store, allowing players to enter cash games and tournaments wherever they can get a connection. Each app is state-specific, so ensure you download the correct casino app for your state. There is a dedicated cell phone and tablet version of the app, too, which we liked, as some operators donโ€™t cater to tablet users and force them to use the cell phone version upscaled, which is less than ideal.

Players have rated the WSOP app well, giving it a 4.2/5 rating on the iOS App Store and 4.4/5 on the Google Play Store. Some players complained that they experienced crashes and glitches, particularly on iOS. Despite this, many players praised the appโ€™s functionality, and when we examined it, we thought it was excellent, responsive, and intuitive.

WSOP Mobile Site

WSOP doesnโ€™t offer a method of playing through its HTML5-optimized mobile site, as you have to download its mobile app to access its poker software. This is pretty common, and most of its online poker competitors, like BetMGM, Borgata, and Partypoker, are only available through bespoke software for your device.

WSOP VIP Loyalty Rewards

WSOP offers players points for participating in tournaments and games that you can exchange for perks and prizes. You can redeem WSOP Points in the rewards store for tournament tickets, bonus play, and other unique benefits.

Thanks to its partnership with Caesars, WSOP online poker members can also link their accounts to the excellent Caesars Rewards program. In our opinion, this is one of the best loyalty programs available in the gambling industry.

Caesars will give you 1 Tier Credit for every wagering point you receive, allowing you to unlock exclusive perks and prizes. While this partnership doesnโ€™t allow you to earn Caesars Rewards Credits, which is disappointing, the addition of this partnership does provide some added benefit and value for WSOP players.

Just make a request, and your account will be blocked, preventing you from creating any new accounts for your safety.

The Evolution of Poker and the WSOP

Originating in the late 18th century, the โ€œclassic game of bluffing and bettingโ€ has its roots in earlier games like the Persian game As Nas, French poque, or German pochen. Poker has a complex history, with different variants evolving over time and across other regions.

In 1998, poker emerged online for the first time in chat rooms. Fast forward to today, when online poker has taken off, and players from all over the world can join cash games and tournaments, playing a variety of poker variations like Texas Hold โ€™em and Omaha against each other.

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) originated as a series of poker tournaments held in Nevada since 1970. Caesars Entertainment has sponsored the competition since 2004. The land-based tournaments started with only a small group of players but have grown to house over 9,000 players battling it out for the poker world champion title. Not to mention the life-changing prize money!

WSOP brought this excitement online with the launch of its website in 2013 when Nevada legalized online poker. Whether youโ€™re up for a challenge against other players or just want to have fun and play for free, WSOP has it all. Players can also download the WSOP app to their Android or iOS devices and play poker while on the move.

Overall, WSOP has been the most trusted name in poker for over fifty years, paying over $3.3 billion in prize money to date.

WSOP Review In Summary

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is a big deal in the US poker world, but it is also super popular online. Its yearly tournaments, both in-person and online, cater to a wide range of players. Plus, its software, designed by industry leaders 888, is easy to use, although it could benefit from a design refresh. While WSOPโ€™s mobile experience stands out, the lack of Omaha tournaments leaves room for improvement.

When combined with the Caesars Rewards program, users can grab generous perks and prizes as they play. Plus, WSOP takes user security seriously, using advanced SSL technology to safeguard player data. The 24/7 customer support is also great, though response times could be improved. Overall, WSOP remains one of the best places to play poker online, balancing its rich history with modern-day digital offerings.
