Games Global and its satellites have upped the production of classic-looking slots with a twist in the past few years. Nearly all of the big studio’s new games released by developers under its umbrella are vintage slots with a twist. The same can be said about 3 Stellar Bonanza, which introduces some fresh features for great winning potential.
While it looks and feels like a vintage slot, 3 Stellar Bonanza is anything but. The slot’s highly volatile math model has 7,776 winning ways and a few interesting features. These mostly revolve around the Lock’n’Win mechanic. Not the most innovative for sure, as I’ve seen it in other real money slots before, but sometimes, you shouldn’t fix what’s not broken.
To make things even more exciting, the developer has added split symbols to the reels, which are carried over from the base game to the Lock’n’Win features. Read my 3 Stellar Bonanza review below to see if it's worth your time and money.
3 Stellar Bonanza is not the most impressive-looking slot. Sure, the graphics and animations are nicely polished, and it has those retro-futuristic vibes. However, with all the split symbols, the reels feel a bit overcrowded, at least to me. The 5x3 setup is set against a stage with purple flickering lights, and it’s clear that the slot’s inspiration is old-school slot machines.
The reels are full of stars, sevens, horseshoes, chips, and cash stacks. The symbol set is completed with card royals. The layout is easy to read, with the controls on the right side and the jackpot values on the left.
It’s a perfect choice for new players, although the maximum winning potential leaves much to be desired for high rollers.
Before you start spinning this bonanza, it would help to check the betting range. It’s set to a high-ish $2 per spin by default, but you can go from 20c to $50. I used $1 during my review. Click on the spin button, and let’s get the party started.
As expected, symbols pay for three or more adjacent reels. The diamond pays a maximum of 5x for five of a kind. There’s also a wild, which substitutes for all symbols except the pot and collect symbols, splits, bonus symbols, and cash values.
This brings us to the special features available in the base game. On any given spin, a split symbol with a number may land on the top row (GraderZ). They add up to three rows to the reel they land on. Split symbols are also carried over to the bonus if they land on the horizontally spinning reel.
Next up are the red star cash value symbols. They land with prizes ranging from 0.2x to 100x. A special collect symbol on reel five can only collect these values.
Red pot symbols increase the multiplier value up to x10. They multiply the cash values in the base game and the Lock’n’Spin bonus rounds. After it’s applied, the multiplier’s value is reset to 1x.
The 3 Stellar Bonanza slot has three stellar bonus rounds. They’re all Lock’n’Win features that can be triggered by red, yellow, or pink pot symbols. This is a play on the popular Hold & Win feature, which you’ve surely seen used in many recent slots.
Each bonus begins with three respins and no regular symbols on the grid. The only symbols that land on the reels are jackpot symbols and cash values, and each of them resets the respins counter back to three.
Collect a red pot to trigger the multiply feature. The multiplier you have in the base game will be carried over to the bonus round. It’s applied to all cash symbols at the end of the feature, which could spell some solid wins.
Collect a yellow pot to trigger this feature. The name says it all. This is the feature that awards the jackpots. You’re awarded the corresponding jackpot when all spaces are completed. If you’re wondering how many spaces you need, that’s six for the Mega and five for the Major jackpot.
Collect a pink pot symbol for the Supreme Lock’n’Win feature. In it, the cash value symbols collect each other (orange collects red, purple collects red and orange), which increases your winning chances.
You can buy any of the features for a price. The Multiply feature with a random multiplier costs 35.10x, while the jackpot feature is pricier at 37.70x.
3 Stellar Bonanza was a fun slot, mostly because of the splits and the Lock’n’Win features. Split symbols landed regularly during my review, awarding extra positions on the grid, which translated to more frequent wins.
I couldn’t get to the bonus round, so I bought the Multiply and Supreme features to see how they work. They weren’t as costly as expected and returned the investment with a tiny bit of profit. The bonus rounds are way more fun than the base game, so if you’re thinking of buying, you should pull the trigger.
3 Stellar Bonanza has an average 96.00% RTP with a highly volatile math model. The slot’s maximum possible win is 5,000x the bet.
I’ve seen slots similar to 3 Stellar Bonanza before, yet only a few offer three different Lock’n’Win features. It’s a colorful and fun slot that revolves around collection features. It’s a perfect choice for new players, although the maximum winning potential leaves much to be desired for high rollers.
