Nitropolis is a hugely successful series by ELK Studios. Once they had reached Nitropolis 4, the developer created a spin-off series. Four games were produced for each animal clan. These games were Dirty Dawgs of Nitropolis, Rogue Rats of Nitropolis, Gritty Kitty of Nitropolis, and Pug Thugs of Nitropolis. The release of Nitropolis 5 reunites these characters for the final battle against Sgt. Nitro Wolf. 

The lead-up to Nitropolis 5 offered many fantastic and innovative games, and I am more than confident that this final Nitropolis slot game will sign off in immaculate style. 

For this review, I play the final game in the series and share my experience and how the game is played. I also discuss its design, features, performance, and programming. Nitropolis 5 opens with an intro video to help get those juices of yours flowing. The game loads with a “Nitropolis 5, Are You Ready?” voiceover, and the music ignites every molecule of adrenaline, with a rush of distorted beats bringing the Nitropolis city and game alive. 

The design of this game is set on the outskirts of Nitropolis, as we gaze over the cityscape from the entering bridge. The slot comes with a 6-reel, 4-row layout, with over 4,096 ways to win. Above the reels are three Feature signs that can trigger the features. The slot itself can also expand to an 8x6 game. 

Firstly, you do not need the knowledge or experience of the previous games in the series that came before this. Load up Nitropolis 5 and start by setting the amount you wish to bet per spin. Select the coin icon, and the price list will appear. Bets start at $0.20 and rise to $50.

Some of the gaming symbols can inflate to 2x2 and 3x3, which will help to capture wins. The game is also built with an Avalanche mechanism. When winning symbols are created, they explode to then be replaced by the symbols above them. Then, new symbols are added to the game whilst the reels expand an extra row. This motion of play continues, potentially helping players to win, all from just one spin.

ELK Studios is a master of innovative gameplay, and just by the features alone, this is a game that ticks a lot of boxes for me and will do for many players out there. 

I set the game to play 50 auto spins and put my bets at $2 per spin. A lot of the experience coming from this game was near hits and misses. As the features landed, no wins were being produced, and my highest win after 25 spins was $8. Yet, despite the first half of play, the game is still entertaining.

The Rogue Rat feature seems to be landing the most, and on spin 27, I got a win of $19.20 thanks to it. It took several spins after this for me to win again; this time, it was the Pug Thug feature that returned $7.20.

With all 50 spins played, I ended up empty-handed, but what a trip back into Nitropolis.

The maximum to be won from this game is $2,500,000! This will require you to spin the reels at the highest betting price of $50. This makes Nitropolis 5 one of the best value-for-money games online. The RTP is understandably lower because of the prize money, at 94%. Plus, it is no surprise that the volatility is programmed at the highest setting.
