Pragmatic Play has dropped another Big Bass slot for what is now the most over-bloated series in the history of online casino gaming. I swear they just pull names out of a hat and design a game around the stupid idea. I’m waiting for Big Bass: Fishin’ on Mars or Big Bass: Taking Out a Mortgage.
It’s frankly getting beyond ridiculous now, but my issue isn’t the expanse of the series, it’s just that every game is 90% a copy of what came before, with one new feature. It’s hardly groundbreaking ingenuity.
Nevertheless, the Big Bass Mission Fishin’ slot has now been released and I will detail every gaming feature and software program, as I tackle the game in its real money mode. You can suffer along with me, as the free demo version is attached to this game review. If you like the game, Casinos.com can also guide you to the best casinos offering this game to play for real money. What they cannot help with is your need to see a therapist.
The Big Bass Mission Fishin’ slot game works on the idea of this being nighttime and being a stealth operation to catch fish and win money. So, what we get is the same slot we’ve had a billion times over, just made dark and with symbols having a green glow to them.
Call me fussy, but again, it is a hugely missed opportunity to be more creative about the idea. There’s no radar animation, no use of night vision. Heck, I would even settle for the Bass to be dressing in pajamas and a nightcap just to be different.
Anyway, the slot is laid out with 3 rows and 5 reels and comes with 10 paylines.
I swear they just pull names out of a hat and design a game around the stupid idea. I’m waiting for Big Bass: Fishin’ on Mars or Big Bass: Taking Out a Mortgage.
If you have played any Big Bass Bonanza slots from Pragmatic Play, you are not in for any surprise with this game. As usual, do the basics. Once loaded, set your betting value to an amount that you can budget. Prices are paid per spin, starting at as low as $0.10 per spin and going up to a maximum bet amount of $250. Use the + and – buttons to set the bet. Once ready, select the spin button to begin playing.
There are 10 paylines to Big Bass Mission Fishin’. You must land 3 or more of the same symbol across any one of these lines to formulate a win. 2 or more if it’s the boat symbol. Other symbols include the dragonfly, grappling gun, tackle box, and the bass. The lower symbols on the paytable are A, K, Q, J, and 10. The fisherman, as with all Big Bass casino games, acts as the Wild symbol.
The bass are also classed as Money symbols, as you will see they carry a value with them which is a multiple of the betting value. The multiplier values can range from x2 your bet to a massive x5,000 your bet.
Playing is simple, as with all online slot machines. Keep pressing that spin button until you either run out of cash or you win big enough to end the round of play and cash out.
So, what are the special features that might help you to win big?
Free Spins: Landing 3, 4, or 5 of the game's Scatter symbol will unlock access to the main bonus round. With 3 symbols, you get 10 spins, 4 symbols return 15, and 5 symbols give you 20 free spins. Before the round activates, you will play a mini-game. On the screen are flies, and each one hides a modifier. These are added to the round until you reveal the Boot symbol and the mini-game ends.
The modifiers are:
More fish symbols.
More fisherman symbol (Wilds).
More dynamite, bazooka, and hook symbols increase the spin feature.
Start from level 2 on the progressive feature.
2 extra spins, which are also added to every respin trigger.
During the free spins bonus, Wild symbols help collect Money symbol values. Every 4th Wild that lands prompts 10 more free spins. There is also an increase in the multiplier values. This progressive feature is synonymous with all Big Bass slots.
Stack the Cash: Collect as many Fish Coins as possible before the round of spins is over. For every coin landed, you will have your spin counter reset back to 4 spins. The coin values come with multipliers of 1x to x25 of your bet. During the round, a bomb symbol can drop, which explodes and doubles the coin values that appear on the same reel.
Ante Bet: Up your wager by 50% and increase the chances of landing scatter symbols to unlock the bonus.
Buy Feature: Directly buy your way into the bonus round. The cost of which is 100 times the value of your bet.
My lack of enthusiasm should be clear by now, but despite having played what feels like a thousand Big Bass real money slots, I won’t complain if I catch a big win. I load the game and set bets to $2 a spin. I set the autospins to 50 so I could sit back and watch the disaster unfold.
Spin 6 lands my first win of $4. After this, it takes 22 more spins to produce a win, which only amounted to $1.20. With my last 10 spins, I started writing up a shopping list to survive boredom, and then BAM! Super Win strikes, having hit 11 Money symbols that amount to a total win of $104.
The result, after 50 spins, meant I was able to cash out $14.
The total possible win is 5,000 times the value of the player's bet. If you spin at $250 a go, the jackpot will be $1,250,000! The game comes with a high volatility setting and an average Return to Player calculation of 96.50%.
This series has its fans, and I am not one of them. Yes, my experience was hugely positive, but that’s only because I won. The game offers nothing different from past games in this series, and the new features that are added still don’t make it innovative.
There are many slot games in this series, and Casinos.com provides reviews and free demos of them. Big Bass Bonanza, Big Bass Splash, Big Bass Amazon Xtreme, Big Bass Day at the Races, and so on. If you want something different, I recommend:
