The setting of Big Bass Day at the Races takes place at a racecourse and comes with a slot layout of three rows and five reels. When you have set the price amount, you can begin the game by pressing the spin button, which, in turn, rotates the reels. There are up to 10 rewarded features called catches, but the picking stops when you land the “and they’re off.” The more catches you make, the greater the returns because you’ve increased the opportunities.

The +1 money symbol will move around the grid throughout all spins to help boost wins. The Wild Man helps to collect the money symbols, and the free spins prolong the opportunity of winning. Removing the lowest horse means that only the higher-prized symbols are in play. 

You can skip the base game and instantly play the bonus round via the Bonus Buy slots feature. It’s a pricey way to play, but it does come with risks.

While it is nice to see Pragmatic Play do something different with the Big Bass game, it really doesn’t offer any new dynamics of play. This is just a revamp with an alternative style over the same old Big Bass features.

I wasn’t too fussed about the game, and I think Pragmatic Play is flogging a dead horse now. They need to come up with new ideas, concepts, and ways to entertain. But this is just me, and I am sure that there are many players out there who will lap this game right up. 

I played this game in its demo mode. Set at $2 per spin and playing 100 spins, I didn’t land any bonus feature and ended the game a little down on my balance. So, I tried the Bonus Buy feature. This is a very costly way of playing, but it might pay out big time. I spent $200 play coins on the free spins, and during the pick-me round, I got three horses with Remove Lowest Horse, +1 money symbol, and +1 Wild Man. After my ten free spins, I had won $66.80. so it is not a huge amount, considering it costs $200. So, there’s the risk.

Big Bass Day at the Races has an RTP of 96.07%. The ante bet increases your bet but increases the chance to land the bonus feature.

The game comes with a high volatility setting, which isn’t ideal if you are playing with a limited budget. This is high because the max payout is 10,000x bet. This means if you wager $375 per spin, you could win $3,750,000. 

Big Bass Day at the Races is just like all the other Big Bass slot games made by Pragmatic Play. Personally, I am done with them; there are too many, and the series has lost all meaning. This game doesn’t offer anything new other than its new facelift on the design front.
