Black Diamond has a straightforward and simple layout. You’ll see a slot machine with the lines displayed in the center of the screen. The old-school reel set is dominated by 7s in different colors and BARs. Those two are the most classic slot symbols of all time. They come in single, double, and triple combinations.

The graphics aren’t impressive like in modern slots. This is a barebones slot in visual terms with no special animations. It looks and feels like a vintage slot machine, and that’s what its purpose is.

To play the Black Diamond online slot, you’ll first need to adjust your bet, which ranges from $2.25 to $6.75. Your bet determines if you qualify for the progressive jackpots or not. Keep in mind that the jackpots are only unlocked when you play at maximum bet, which can be costly. In short, this slot isn’t new-player friendly.

Winning combinations are formed when you match three symbols on the reels. Those can be single, double, or triple BARs or 7s, or any combo between them. The black diamond is a wild. It can step in and substitute for other symbols in winning combinations.

Randomly, on any spin, a multiplier can land on the reels. It can be part of winning combinations, doubling or tripling them. Two or more multipliers on a payline will have their values combined. The maximum winning multiplier you can hit is x30.

Black Diamond has no bonus round or special feature outside of the progressive jackpots. The progressive rewards are available on maximum bet only. Land three Black Diamond logos on payline 9 for the Major jackpot or the same combination on paylines 1-8 for the Minor jackpot.

Suppose you play at less than the max bet; the jackpot prizes are flat – 5,000 credits on payline 9 and 300 credits on paylines 1-8.

Buying the jackpots is impossible, so you’ll need to play at maximum bet for a chance to hit them.

Seeing that I prefer playing themed slots, Black Diamond is one of those old-school slots that are simply too classic to make an impression on me. I respect how the studio designed this vintage slot, but honestly, it doesn’t have much to offer. 

I hesitantly adjusted the bet to $6.75, which is too much for most players. This immediately locked the progressive prizes, leaving me with symbol wins and multipliers.

I only managed to hit one multiplier win, and it was with the lowest possible value—x2. During my sessions of over 50 spins, Black Diamond didn’t provide any significant wins.

The RTP of the Black Diamond slot remains a mystery since the developer hasn’t disclosed this information. The volatility is medium, and the maximum win you can hit is whatever the Major progressive jackpot reaches, up to a maximum of almost $50,000.

Black Diamond is an unimpressive classic slot game – that’s the truth. It’s another Everi reskin that I’ve already seen in Cash Machine and Crystal Star. The slot doesn’t bring anything new and will only appeal to a select group of players. 

The progressive jackpots are a nice addition. However, they are smaller than the largest progressive jackpot slots, such as Mega Moolah, and they can only be won on max bet, which is a shame.
