Coin of the Nile Slot Review

Ancient Egypt is an endless treasure trove of inspiration for slot developers, but Skywind had slightly different plans for the “Gift of the Nile” in this release. This time, the ancient river itself served as the central theme of the Coin of the Nile slot, bringing mesmerizing visuals of the riverbank to your desktop or mobile device.

With an RTP ranging from 94.50% to 96.50%, it’s clear that there’s more to this slot than its blissful theme. But the 5x3 layout and seemingly simple bonus mechanics left me wondering if there’s anything genuinely innovative about it.

I tried the Coin of the Nile for real money to share my firsthand impressions of the slot. For more information, feel free to check out my review. You can also try the game in demo mode right here to see how it compares before playing for real money in top rated online casinos.

Coin of the Nile Slot Theme, Layout, and Symbols

I liked the simple yet engaging layout of the Coin of the Nile slot, starting with Skywind’s signature popping visuals as you connect winning symbols. This time, the provider decided not to go with fancy layouts and stuck with a basic 5x3 grid and 10 fixed paylines.

Getting started is easy — you just have to use the coin button and flip the plus/minus switch to adjust your chip size. The game features a Turbo Spin option for high-speed gameplay, perfect for bonus hunting. Some of the main themed symbols include the Sphinx (Wild), scarabs, the Eye of Horus, and the ancient goddess Isis.

I wasn’t impressed by the seemingly low payouts, even with all those multipliers in play. That said, it is a solid choice for players who don’t enjoy the style of modern-day, extremely volatile slots.

How to Play Coin of the Nile Slot

I liked how the provider stayed true to the theme and went so far as to include the sound of the Egyptian bow when switching between different bet sizes. To play for real money, tap or click on the coin symbol and choose your bet size from $0.10 to $300 per spin.

To trigger the Turbo Spins, you just have to tap the Spin button a few times quickly, and you’ll see a pop-up message. There’s also the Autoplay option right next to the Spin button, but you can’t set the number of spins yourself. You can only activate it and let the spins play out until you click again to stop the sequence. Even further to the right, you’ll find manual speed controls with three different settings.

Coin of the Nile Slot Bonus Features, Free Spins & Bonus Buy

The Coin of the Nile slot bonus is undoubtedly the game's most prominent feature, but that doesn’t take away from the rest of the gameplay. While I do feel like the provider could have done something more innovative with this release, these features will definitely keep you engaged as you play.

Coin of the Nile Slot Bonus Features

Coin Feature Free Spins

Hitting three golden coin scatters during base gameplay leads to the free spins bonus round. The bonus gives you 15 spins with a 3x multiplier on all payouts, while the wild symbol further amplifies potential winnings. You can also re-trigger the bonus and extend it for 15 more spins by landing three additional scatters.

My Experience Playing the Coin of the Nile Slot for Real Money

Despite the pretty basic layout and features I’ve seen numerous times in other slots, I was fairly excited to play this slot. Sadly, it wasn’t my day, as I started with a $100 balance, and after nearly an hour of play, it was all gone.

My biggest base-game win was a $25 hit through a connection of four scarabs with a wild multiplier symbol. Along the way, I got quite a few lower-value wins ranging from $2 to $8, so I decided to raise the stakes and try the Triple Chance feature. This doubled my bet to $2 and boosted the number of coin symbols on all reels. Sadly, I couldn’t trigger the bonus round this way, so I decided to buy it while I was still ahead.

For $100, I ended up landing a re-trigger for a total of 30 spins. Still, even though all the winnings are tripled in the bonus, I only managed to hit a $35 win in a single spin. That was also the highest win of my session, and it even had the wild symbol for a combined multiplier of 6x. In the end, the bonus round paid out only $62.

I ended up with an insufficient return to buy another bonus, so I played through the rest of my balance in the base game. After about an hour more, my balance was sadly drained.

While I can see the potential of the bonus round, I must say that the base game is a bit monotonous. Perhaps if Skywind added a few more base game features, it would be a different story.

Coin of the Nile Slot RTP, Volatility, and Max Payout

The RTP of this slot is within the range of 94.50% to 96.50%, and it all depends on the casino as to which version you’ll find. The maximum win is 5,000x of your bet size, which is decent enough. You can hit the max win by landing full lines of the Sphinx wild symbols in the bonus round.

While the game is not extremely volatile, it is on the high side in that regard. So it’s worth checking out if you don’t mind a few dead spins here and there.

Coin of the Nile Slot Final Verdict and Recommended Games

All things considered, the Coin of the Nile isn’t my cup of tea. However, I have to say that the visuals, the soundtrack, and the slightly different take on the ancient Egyptian slot theme make it an alluring option.

I wasn’t impressed by the seemingly low payouts, even with all those multipliers in play. That said, it is a solid choice for players who don’t enjoy the style of modern-day, extremely volatile slots.
