D-Day Slot Review

Conflicts have been the talk of the town for ages. Being involved in some kind of skirmish is a trend humankind has been following for a long time. War seems to be all the rage now. If you’re not in it, you're out of fashion.

Anyway, I could talk all day about geopolitics, but there is a review to make and a new war game to cover.

D-Day by Nolimit City takes us back to a historic moment in the Second World War calendar, June 6, 1944. This game pays homage to the Normandy battle, which saw thousands of lives sacrificed in the liberation of France.

In this D-Day review, I discuss all gaming and software aspects of the game. This includes the software programming with RTP and volatility. In-game features and online slot bonuses. Cost of play, how to play, and what you can potentially win should your luck be in.

D-Day Slot Layout, Theme & Setup

D-Day is obviously a war-themed game, a category of gaming that I am personally a big fan of. The design is incredible, and the developer, Nolimit City, is increasingly producing one great game after another. In fact, I’d go as far as to say that they are making the best slot games right now.

The D-Day slot is set in a war room with four generals at the table as we look down on the battle map. The slot layout is over the middle of the map and comes with a reel pattern of 3-4-5-4-3. The look of this game is absolutely perfect and what you would exactly want from a war game.

The game comes with an epic orchestration of horns, trumpets, and violins that builds a crescendo of danger, doom, and fitting drama.

The symbols of this game include the Howitzer, Stuka, Bomber, and Panzer. Note that these are also feature symbols. There is also the fighter pilot, anti-air, foot soldier, and commando. Other in-game symbols include the Atomic Wild and the Golden Eagle Scatter symbols, which unlock the in-game bonus features.

Games that look like this are an instant attraction for me. It all stems back to the first Medal of Honor game that came out on the PlayStation back in 1999. There is something about the look, sound, and feel of games that pay homage to the Second World War. I loved it before I even began playing it.

How to Play the D-Day Slot

Because of the unique layout of the slot, D-Day comes with 720 ways to win. This means that there are no paylines to win by. To formulate wins, you must land three or more matching symbols across adjacent reels. With this said, that doesn’t mean three symbols on reels 3, 4, and 5 constitute a win – it does not. You need to land winning symbols from reel 1.

But before doing anything, you need to figure out how much you are willing to spend per spin of the game. The cost of each spin can be found in the coin icon. Click this to reveal prices that start from $0.20 per spin and rise to the value of $100 per spin.

When you have selected your price, tap the spin button to turn the reels. The slot also comes with quick play and Autoplay options.  You will also notice two standout icons: a yellow star, the game’s Bonus Buy feature, and the X-Bet. The X-Bet is a booster that increases your wager by 30% and doubles your chances of activating the game’s bonus round.

D-Day Slot Free Spins, Bonus Features & Bonus Buy

The main bonus feature of D-Day is a free spin round. Now, there are three different types of free spins you can win. First, you need to land three scatter symbols. This will activate the Neptune Spins. In this round, you get eight free spins and two features.

If you land four scatter symbols, you launch the Invasion Spins bonus round. This rewards eight free spins and includes three features to boost the experience.

Make four scatter symbols appear on the reels, and you will trigger the Overlord Spins bonus round. This bonus game gives you eight Overlord free spins and four features.

What are these features? Well, they relate to the highest-valued symbols in the game:

  • Atomic Wild: This Wild symbol can introduce multipliers into this game. This multiplier could be up to 100 times in value.
  • Bomber: Between two and five Bomber symbols can appear on the reels, and they drop Wilds onto the reels to boost payout chances. This stops when there is an anti-air symbol on the reel.
  • Stuka: This plane symbol flies into the slot diagonally and will split symbols in half, thus doubling the symbols and increasing the number of ways to win.
  • Panzer: Two to five Panzer tanks will appear on the reels and transform all low-paying symbols into Wilds. If there is already a wild, this then becomes increased in value.
  • Howitzer: This feature transforms up to seven symbols into wilds, except Commando symbols.

All these features can be triggered during the base game if you land two scatters. Should a third land on reel 5, you will launch the Atomic Wild feature.

My Experience Playing D-Day Slot for Real Money

Games that look like this are an instant attraction for me. It all stems back to the first Medal of Honor game that came out on the PlayStation back in 1999. There is something about the look, sound, and feel of games that pay homage to the Second World War. I loved it before I even began playing it.

I played D-Day at $1 per spin over 50 auto spins. On my 5th spin, I landed three scatter symbols. The bonus round opens with me having to choose my weapon (feature). You see five war room generals awaiting your decision. You must select a general that will unleash their weapon. It turned out I picked the Bomber. The gameplay that followed was manic, action-packed, and glorious. In the end, I won $113.20.

With 11 of my 50 auto spins remaining, I hit a 100x multiplier. This big payout triggered animated video footage of the Normandy invasion. The game is highly engaging and dramatic throughout. Nolimit City has, once again, produced another fantastic game release, and I can see this one attracting many players.

D-Day Slot RTP, Max Payout, and Volatility

The maximum amount you can win is 55,555 times the value of your bet per spin. If you want the largest jackpot, you need to play at $100 per spin, which would return $5,555,500. This makes D-Day one of the largest prized games that is not a progressive jackpot slot.

The RTP is 96.12%, which is good for a game with a $5 million prize pot. The volatility is set to a high setting, which is 100% understandable given the amounts that can be won.

D-Day Slot Verdict and Recommended Games

With the potential jackpot alone, this game is great value for money. This slot has no flaws. You have great bonus games, in-play features, and a Bonus Buy option that allows you to bypass the main game. Plus, you have this wonderful design that encompasses the entire slot.

This is a brilliant game, and I highly recommend you play it. Nolimit City is a brilliant gaming company, and other top slots by them include Land of the Free, Ugliest Catch, and Benji: Killed in Vegas.
