When it comes to gambling, there is no place on Earth quite like Las Vegas. Play’n GO is taking us on a trip to Sin City once again with the Joker Flip slot. The game takes us right down to the Vegas Strip, with the developers utilizing several popular gameplay mechanics from their repertoire to bring the action to life. With a 2,500x maximum win on offer, though, does this slot live up to the Vegas standard? Join me as I hit the Spin button and find out in this Joker Flip slot review.
As I mentioned in the introduction to this Joker Flip slot review, the game is centered around the iconic Vegas Strip. A hotel called The Royal sits in the background in front of the giant Vegas Wheel, while a clear summer sky, water fountains, and palm trees help to set the mood.
The reels feature a mix of classic slot imagery and Vegas-inspired icons. You will see the classic number 7, watermelons, gold bars, dice, and poker chips. On the whole, it’s a charming and fun design that does an excellent job of capturing Vegas without ever feeling cheap in the way many Vegas titles do.
Thematically, the game has an excellent design, but the Vegas theme is definitely nothing new and will not make the title stand out. Overall, it’s a game that never really feels like it lives up to its potential.
The base game of Joker Flip is straightforward and easy to master. The slot uses a standard 5x3 setup with ten paylines. You’ll get a payout for winning combinations on three or more consecutive reels, starting on the leftmost reel.
The control panel is beneath the reels. The stake options are displayed on a sliding scale, as they always are with Play’n GO. The big ‘i’ button in the corner provides players with all the information they need regarding payouts and gameplay.
Players who have played Play’n GO’s Invading Vegas Las Christmas before will notice several of the same bonus features in Joker Flip. The slot is essentially a reskin of the popular Christmas and Alien-themed title.
Firstly, keep your eyes peeled for Mystery Symbols. When these land, they can reveal standard symbols or a Wild, with the chance of a multiplier of 2x, 3x, 5x, or 10x attached. The Mystery Symbol will always reveal the same symbol; however, they will not all have a multiplier attached.
If you land fully stacked symbols on the first two symbols, you will trigger a respin on the middle reel. All other reels hold in place and the middle reel gets a respin.
During this round, you can land stacked Wild symbols on the middle reel. If you do so, it becomes a Walking Wild. It will then move one reel to the right for each respin until it reaches the end of the grid. As it walks across the reels, it will leave mystery symbols behind.
Landing three or more Scatters triggers the Joker Flip Free Spins bonus. During the round, the reels are flipped, hence the game’s title. As such, Walking Wilds will move from left to right and not vice versa. Landing three or more Scatters in the round extends the free spins, with a maximum of 120 available.
Unfortunately, no Buy Bonus or Ante-bet style feature is available in the Joker Flip online slot.
For this review, I tested the Joker Flip slot on two devices: my iPhone and my laptop. I also used Google Chrome and Safari to test the game’s capabilities across different browsers. I experienced no notable differences between devices, operating systems, or browsers, but I generally preferred playing the game as a mobile slot in landscape mode.
The demo version provided in this review will give you an excellent chance to test the game out before you play for real money. There is a good mix of bonus features on offer here, so you should check as many of them out and get used to the game before you part ways with your cash. Unfortunately, the lack of a Buy Bonus feature means you must wait to trigger the bonuses individually.
You can play the slot for between $0.10 and $50 by hitting the +/- buttons under the grid. I found the game’s layout very intuitive, so new players to Play’n GO titles should have no issues finding their way around the slot.
It was disappointing to find the maximum win in Joker Flip was only 2,500x, with the game’s bonuses having a lot of potential for bigger wins. The RTP comes in at a solid 96.20%, but there are multiple versions on the market, so check the paytable before you hit spin. The game has a medium volatility rating.
Joker Flip has a good range of bonuses for players to enjoy, but it fails to follow this up with any winning potential. The maximum win of 2,500x your stake will not get too many pulses racing, and the lack of a Buy Bonus may also frustrate some players.
Thematically, the game has an excellent design, but the Vegas theme is definitely nothing new and will not make the title stand out. Overall, it’s a game that never really feels like it lives up to its potential.
If you enjoy Joker Flip, you should check out Invading Las Vegas Christmas, which this release is essentially a remake of. I also recommend Invading Vegas, the original title in that series. If you’re looking for a Vegas-themed slot with a little more punch, I recommend Vegas Rush from Big Time Gaming, which serves up a massive win of over 47,000x your stake.

Unfortunately, you cannot buy your way into the bonus round in the Joker Flip slot. The only way to trigger the Joker Flip bonus round is to land three or more Scatters in a base game spin. During the spins, the reels are flipped, with Walking Wilds going the opposite way across the grid.
