Thunderkick has launched a long-anticipated sequel to their first Midas Golden Touch slot machine. There are no prizes for guessing the name, but here we are faced with Midas Golden Touch 2. Oh, and before anyone gets cocky and highlights the Christmas Edition of Midas Golden Touch, then that doesn’t count.
For this slot review, I will be discussing my first experience of this casino game. I discuss the programming behind the software, the ‘how to play’ aspects of the game, what bonus features are present, and what you can potentially win.
As with all free slot games featured at Casinos.com, you will have access to the free-to-play demo game that you can enjoy with any mobile device. If you like playing Midas Golden Touch 2, you can also find the best casinos online offering the game as a real money slot.
Midas Golden Touch 2 by Thunderkick is still set in the same marbled columned room, with swaying banners and clear blue skies. The design of the slot retains the same 3-row, 5-reel layout, though it sits deeper into the game, making it look smaller. This game comes with 15 paylines, the same as the first Midas Golden Touch slot machine.
Note that the control panel hosts an auto play button, a buy feature, the spin button, and, above this, a BET+ feature, which acts as an Ante Bet option.
I wasn’t particularly a fan of the first Midas Golden Touch slot game, and I have to say this: there really isn’t much of a difference with this game when it comes to features.
Find an online casino supplying Midas Golden Touch 2, and once you sign in, make your deposit and load the game. First, click on the Bet button to select the amount you wish to bet per spin. The values range from a minimal bet of $0.10 and climb to a max bet amount of $100 per spin.
When you select your betting value, press the spin button to start playing and spinning those reels. Wins are formed by landing three, four, or five identical symbols across any one of the 15 paylines. The more symbols there are on a payline, the greater the return. The symbols featured are Midas, the crown, a cup, a chest, and letters A, K, Q, J, and numbers 9 and 10. The Wild symbol is represented by Midas’s hands and a golden orb.
Those are the basics of play. You essentially spin the reels and hope for the best. It’s all down to luck to hit the right symbols on the right reels at the right time.
During play, you will come across special features that will aid you in the pursuit of success. Firstly, you have the Wild symbols. Not only can they duplicate any other symbol, but they also have other values. If one Wild is part of a win line, then you are granted a x2 multiplier. Two Wilds = a x4 multiplier; three Wilds = a x8 multiplier; four Wilds = a x16 multiplier; five Wilds = a x32 multiplier.
The Gift of Midas is a feature that triggers at any time during the base game. This feature adds a special doorway symbol to the game and, when triggered, unlocks between 1 and 9 Wild symbols or 1 to 3 scatter bonus symbols.
The scatter bonus symbols are the gateway to the game’s bonus round. Three or more are required to land you the free spins bonus game. 3 symbols = 8 free spins. 4 symbols = 10 free spins. 5 symbols = 12 free spins.
During the bonus game, Wild wins will activate a sticky respin. All winning symbols will become locked, which means further symbols could be added to the already existing win line. If no new symbol drops, then the respin ends. Before the respin starts, a Wild symbol is placed somewhere random on the reels. This Wild is called the Epic Wild as it comes with a Multiplier. This is linked to a Collection meter that recorded dropped scatter symbols. If you reach 3, your x2 multiplier converts to a x4 multiplier. The more scatter symbols you land, the more the multiplier will grow and will climb to a final value that is x32.
Midas Golden Touch 2 also comes with a Buy Bonus slots feature. This lets players pass on the main base game and play directly within the bonus rounds. The cost of skipping the main game is 100x your wagering cost that you bet per spin.
The Ante Bet or BET+ feature ups the wager that you play to make bonus symbols more likely to drop onto the reels.
Thunderkick is a great software company, but they can make the odd iffy slot now and again. I wasn’t particularly a fan of the first Midas Golden Touch slot game, and I have to say this: there really isn’t much of a difference with this game when it comes to features.
I loaded the game from my preferred casino, made a deposit, and set my bets per spin to $2. I played 50 spins using the auto-play mode. It’s been a fair few years since I played the first game, and it’s like nothing at all really changed. Twenty spins in, and still nothing won. Spin 21, and I hit $12. And that, dear readers, is literally all that happened, except for a sneaky $8 win on my last spin.
Now I remember why I never touched the first game again.
Midas Golden Touch 2 comes with a capped max payout that is 15,000 times the wagering value. Bets placed at $100 per spin could potentially win back $1,500,000! The RTP for this game is low at 94.27%, but unsurprising given the jackpot. Also, the volatility is programmed to a high setting for the same reason.
Midas Golden Touch was a big and successful game when it launched, so there is an audience for this sequel. If you like the demo for this game, then do check out the original slot. For me, it’s a no-go. I feel there are better games out there in the market and within the whole mythology genre.
My recommendations are:
Read the reviews and play the free demos at Casinos.com, where you can also find the best casinos hosting these games in their real money formats.

Thunderkick is a long-established casino games developer. Whilst not a top 10 game maker, they are still found in and around the top casino sites online. I recommend you go through the casino reviews to see which sites host Thunderkick software and take it from there.
Midas Golden Touch 2 was released on April 24, 2024. This was one of several games dropped by Thunderkick. Others that have been reviewed at Casinos.com include Xterminate, Beat the Beast: Dragon’s Wrath, and 12 Bolts of Thunder. Try the free-to-play demos inside each of these slot reviews.
The Midas Golden Touch 2 casino slot game does host a free spins bonus round. This feature rewards either 8, 10, or 12 free spins, depending on how many bonus scatter symbols you land. The round of play also comes with multipliers and extra winnable free spins.
The Midas Golden Touch 2 slot machine does have an optional bonus buy feature that will grant you instant access to the free spins bonus round. There is, however, a cost to this, which is 100 times the value of your bet.
