The action in Napoleon Deluxe takes place on a 5x3 grid with 20 paylines. The French Revolution inspires the symbols, so you’ll see Napoleon himself, his soldiers and warships, his trusty horse, and a cannon. Low-paying card royals also grace the reels. The graphics are sharp, as expected out of a Blueprint Gaming slot, and so are the animations.

An epic soundtrack in the background keeps the pace going. It’s accompanied by excellent sound effects when you score wins or unlock the slot’s features. As for the layout, it’s pretty standard. The spin button is on the right side, with the other controls in the corners beneath the reels.

You need three or more symbols for a winning combination or two for the pair of top premiums and the wild. Three or more royal crown scatters will trigger the bonus round. Regardless of the number of triggering scatters, you receive ten free spins. During the bonus round, any win triggers the so-called Napoleon streak.

When that happens, winning symbols will lock into place while the reels go for a respin. They will continue until a loss occurs and there are no winning symbols on the screen. The bonus round can’t be retriggered. There’s a bonus buy option, which costs 65x with x2 and x3 wilds active for the duration of the bonus.

Napoleon Deluxe wasn’t as deluxe of a slot game as I was hoping for, but it still offered decent wins. That’s mostly thanks to the wilds. I managed to hit a couple of wins at one of the top casinos that involved two wilds, which delivered decent returns even with lower-paying symbols.

It took me over 30-40 spins to get to the bonus round. The Napoleon streak relies on winning streaks, so it’s not triggered right away. But, thanks to the endless possible respins, this is where I hit the largest wins, justifying the money I invested before. I also tried the bonus buy option as I couldn’t retrigger the bonus naturally. I got my money back but didn’t make an extra profit.
