One slot genre that I feel is underutilized is prison breaks. There have been some excellent prison-themed slots, with some of my personal favorites being titles like Relax Gaming’s Helcatrz 2 Dream Drop and Wild Chapo 2. This time, it is the turn of the relatively unknown developer Ino Games. The company, which is working with Games Global for the Payout Time slot, serves up a fun prison-break-themed offering with a 5,000x jackpot and other bonuses. In this Payout Time review, I take the slot for a spin and find out whether it is worth busting out for. 

Ino Games has clearly had fun with the design of the Payout Time slot, and I know this because I had a lot of fun playing it. The reels are positioned in front of a giant prison on a hill, with searchlights and watch towers on the hunt for the escaped criminals. The symbols on the reels feature various prison guards and dogs. There are also no playing card symbols, which I found to be a refreshing change. The soundtrack has a very arcade-like vibe to it, and the game keeps things exciting by upping the tempo and changing the setting when you trigger a bonus feature. 

I found the Payout Time mobile slot to be a lot of fun. The game has been well-optimized, and it ran smoothly on the devices I tested it on. The slot is supported by both Android and iOS operating systems, and it will also work with the best casino apps. I found the game was best enjoyed when you switched your device to landscape mode. 

I imagine that breaking out of prison is extremely difficult, but there was nothing difficult or complex about the gameplay of the Payout Time slot. The game uses the standard 5x3 grid structure, with ten active paylines on each spin. Winning combinations are formed when you land three or more matching symbols across a payline. 

The slot allows players to bet as little as $0.10, with a maximum bet of $20. Unfortunately, I found this to be quite a restricted range that is not likely to suit higher rollers. 

Ino Games has worked several bonus features into the Payout Time slot, and I found most of them to enhance my experience. 

Firstly, there are the Double Symbols. To get this, you will need to fill the slot’s progress by continuing to play. When it is full, you are rewarded five spins, and one of the game’s higher-paying symbols becomes a double symbol, meaning you can secure bigger wins. 

If you land three or more Bonus symbols, you will trigger the Cafeteria Swap Bonus. This is a mini-game that takes place on a separate 4x4 matrix. There are inmates, bribes, multipliers,  officers, and Shiv symbols that can land on the reels. Inmates will collect Shivs if they land and add their value to themselves, while officers will collect bribe symbols. All of the symbols will interact with one another in some way, and the round will end when no new symbols land on a spin. 

There is a free spins bonus, which is triggered when you land three Free Spins symbols. This will reward between five and seven spins. During the round, up to six random symbols can be turned Wild, boosting your chance of landing a big win. 

The slot also has a Jackpot bonus. To win the Jackpot, you will need to land five Jackpot symbols across the grid to win the main jackpot, which is worth 5,000x your stake. 

Depending on your location, you will have the option to buy your way into the game’s bonus rounds. 

I was surprised to find that the maximum win in the Payout Time slot was 5,000x. Given the innovative nature of some of the features, it felt as though this game could have packed a little more punch in this department. While 5,000x is still good, it feels as though it could have been better. The RTP is a solid 96.18%, and the game is considered highly volatile. 

I found a lot to like about the Payout Time online slot when playing it at new slot sites. Ino Games has done a good job of utilizing its theme, and the bonus features, especially the Cafeteria Round, are a lot of fun. I also liked the use of Random Wilds in the Payout Time Free Spins bonus. My only real issue with the slot is that the 5,000x maximum win feels a little restricted and that, with a bigger potential win, this game could go from good to great.
