Now, this is a refreshing change. A developer will not often dip their toes into the pool of rock ‘n’ roll as a slot genre, but Betsoft has. Sure, in the past, there have been official games released covering bands such as Kiss, Guns N'Roses, Motorhead, and Megadeath. However, these are few and far between. The sad fact is that these music-themed slots are some of the best casino games out there. They capture the essence of the music and the persona of the band, and you often get a very well-made game that respects the artist involved.
Then you get games like Rockstar World Tour – HOLD & WIN, which is not based on anyone real, and it’s all a bit too cheesy. But does this game have the same hits and the greats? Will it reach your number one? Well, this is what I am about to help reveal. Inside this slot review, I share my experience of Rockstar World Tour – HOLD & WIN. I discuss everything from the theme of the game to the volatility of the programming.
Not only will you have me guide you through this casino slot, but you can fully access the Rockstar World Tour – HOLD & WIN demo without cost, registration, or download. Try the game yourself, and if you want to play Rockstar World Tour – HOLD & WIN for real money, then Casinos.com can guide you to the best casinos online.
Rockstar World Tour – HOLD & WIN is based on a pseudo band, which, by the sounds of the backing music, aren’t particularly good. Put it this way: if you ever find a keyboard and put it on Rock Demo, that’s the same noise coming out of this game. Nevertheless, this is a genre that is rarely done and will stand out in any casino menu.
Rockstar World Tour – HOLD & WIN comes with a huge gaming layout. A massive 5x6 slot framed by rigging equipment from truss scaffolding to lighting. The rest of the stage is covered by two large speakers that move and spotlights. There is even a blip that flies overhead, which might be a nod toward the almighty Led Zep.
What is also noticeable is that the Rockstar World Tour – HOLD & WIN comes with 3 jackpot prizes. Minor, Major, and Grand. More on this later in the review, but first, let’s look at how the game is played and won.
When I saw the Rockstar World Tour, I immediately thought that this game was going to provide some great entertainment. Then I saw it was made by Betsoft, and my excitement dropped a little because, as a developer, they can be very hit-and-miss.
With a game like Rockstar World Tour – HOLD & WIN, there is a lot going on. First, this 5x6 slot layout is host to 66 paylines. To win, you need to match 3 or more of the same symbols across any one of the 66 payline patterns. The patterns of which can be found in the game’s paytable. Click on the information icon to reveal the paytable and learn about the rest of the gaming features.
Before you ‘stage-dive’ into playing the game, first take note of the game’s default cost. The price per spin is only set to $0.42. If you want to increase or decrease, select the plus or minus buttons next to the cost value. The prices range between $0.30 and $78.
When you have selected the bet amount, press the large spin button on the right of the game to begin spinning the reels. At this point, you hope and pray that 3 or more matching symbols land. However, with this game, that’s not entirely right. With the highest value symbol (the singer), you only need to land 2 or more to form a win.
The rest of the gaming symbols include the guitarist, the bass player, and the drummer. You then have the classic A, K, Q, and J. There is also the Wild symbol and the Scatter symbol represented by a backstage access pass. The Scatter symbol is normally a special symbol that unlocks a game’s free spins bonus round, but not with this game. In this game, it really does nothing except act like a normal symbol.
Now, the Rockstar World Tour – HOLD & WIN game doesn’t have a free spins bonus at all, but as the title highlights, there is a Hold and Win feature. This feature is a gateway to potentially landing one of the three jackpots available. The bonus symbol for this round is represented by a vinyl record with a price value on it (the values will vary). If you land 6 or more of these across the slot, get ready to rock out.
During this bonus round, the reels will spin either blank spaces or vinyl symbols. With each vinyl that lands, it locks in place, and your 3 free spins counter resets to continue the round of play. Now, you will be granted a respin during this game, but it all ends once your spins have run out or you have filled all 30 spaces on the grid with vinyl symbols. The values that appear on the vinyl are then added and paid out.
Now, not only do vinyl symbols appear in the game, but jackpot symbols do, too. These are the Minor, Major, and Grand symbols, and their values are relative to the amount you are paying per spin. Each symbol holds a singular value.
Wait! That’s not all. There is also a Multiplier Bonus. The symbol of which are two groupies. When this Multiplier symbol lands during the Hold and Win feature, it can add a multiplier value up to the amount of 256 times what you win. After this, vinyl symbols can increase in value, with some of them transforming into jackpot symbols.
When I saw the Rockstar World Tour, I immediately thought that this game was going to provide some great entertainment. Then I saw it was made by Betsoft, and my excitement dropped a little because, as a developer, they can be very hit-and-miss.
Aesthetically, the game looked the part, the music sucks, but when you have a 5 x 6 gaming grid, the mouth does tend to salivate. I played the game for $2.10 per spin and selected the Auto play feature, choosing 40 auto spins. Did anything come of my experience? Hell no!
Because of this, I tried the Bonus Buy feature. This allows players to bypass what is the base game and access the bonus features instantly. The options provided are HOLD & WIN with either 1 respin, 2 respins, 3 respins, or 3 respins with the guaranteed feature.
Now, the Bonus Buy does come at a high cost, and you must be aware that there is no guarantee that you will win or win more than the amount you paid to access the bonus round. I paid $63 for my experience and that gave me 1 respin. The result in the end saw me win $29.05.
The maximum that can be won playing this game is 8,379x the spin value. With the max spin price being $78, that means the highest payout is $653,562. The RTP score comes in at an average of 96.42%, and the volatility, or performance setting, is set to a high level. This means it’s difficult to win, and gaming can be costly.
Rockstar World Tour – HOLD & WIN isn’t a game that breaks down old boundaries and provides new gaming features. I have seen this type of game a hundred times over. However, it’s done very well. However, I will state that it could also have been much better. The music is awful, there are no pyrotechnics, and there are no animated symbols. It is a game that could have given so much to the concept, but it hits a bum note.
Would I play his game for real money? Maybe. Given over half a million can be won with a max spin of just $78, it is actually good value. There are many games out there that want you to pay more to win less. If you liked the demo and wish to seek alternative rock games, then I recommend Jimi Hendrix slot by NetEnt, KISS: Reels of Rock by Play'n GO, and Alice Cooper and the Tome of Madness slot by Play'n GO.
