The 4 Queens in downtown Las Vegas might be undergoing major hotel room renovations but the casino is packed with players looking to score some silver.
Silver Strike slot machines at 4 Queens are in high demand right now. 4 Queens has 12 of them, and these games are often some of the busiest on the floor. There might even be a line of players looking to get in on the action.
This weekend there’s a Silver Strike slot tournament that will have cash prizes and limited edition coins. The prize money will be doled out to 25 players based on the number of entries.
Four Queens is currently the most active Las Vegas casino promoting their Silver Strike coins. The September Silver Strike coin drop had four coins with values ranging from $10 to $600 each.
Four Queens releases new Silver Strike coins four times a year. The newest Silver Strike drop started this week with six different coins.
The other downtown Las Vegas casino with Silver Strike slots is the Plaza.
Silver Strike is an old-school reel slot machine. These games are seeing a renewed popularity in Las Vegas, in part because a max bet on the old-school reel slot machines activate the potential for a player to win a coin with real silver.
Players will win a Silver Strike coin when the logo appears on the third reel when playing with maximum credits. Similar to other bonus rounds in Top Dollar or Pinball reel slot machines, players aren’t eligible for the bonus prize if they play less than max credits.
The Silver Strike coins are limited and differ by location. Coins have different values based on silver content and availability.
The popularity of Las Vegas Silver Strike slot machines has changed a lot over the years. The games are in demand today for a couple of reasons, as TravelTerra shows us here:

The silver coins aren’t available at all casinos and slot machines. They’re unique and limited. Players are always looking for a way to stand out and scoring a silver coin available only in a few locations does the trick.
Additionally, the coins can increase in value over time. There are numerous Silver Strike coins up for auction on eBay from casinos all over Las Vegas. Coins available from yesteryear include Treasure Island, Luxor, Palms, El Cortez, and more.
If a winner doesn’t care about the coin they can bring it to the casino cashier and exchange it for cash.
Coincidentally, while Slots A Fun and El Cortez have coin-operated slot machines, they don’t have Silver Strike games at this time.
