St. Patrick’s Day is Monday, March 17, but Las Vegas will be celebrating the weekend before the big day. Celtic Feis returns to New York-New York in Las Vegas on March 15.
This is the largest and possibly most fun St. Patrick's Day event inside and around a Vegas Strip casino. The party starts bright and early at 10 a.m. and continues until midnight.
While St. Patrick’s Day can be a debaucherous day in cities around the country, it’s kind of another day in Vegas. However, Las Vegas knows how to party, and Celtic Feis does just that.
The annual Irish spectacle will feature a bagpipe parade, live music, nonstop entertainment and more, all day and night. Visitors can enjoy some of the party from afar or with a ticket that offers more access to everything.
There aren’t many great Irish bars on the Vegas Strip, but Nine Fine Irishmen is among the few best. It’s certainly my favorite Irish bar and restaurant inside a casino. Not that anyone needs an excuse, but St. Patrick’s Day is a good reason to have traditional Irish favorites like shepherd’s pie, bangers, corned beef and cabbage, and more.
I don’t always agree with casino executives, but this is the rare occasion that we’re simpatico.
“Celtic Feis is more than a party, it’s a Las Vegas St. Patrick’s Day institution,” said Mike Neubecker, president and COO of New York-New York and MGM Grand. “Each year we pull out all the stops to make it the biggest, boldest and most unforgettable celebration on the Strip. This year will be our best yet!”
While Nine Fine Irishmen might be the hub of activity inside the casino, it also has a patio that looks out to the Brooklyn Bridge in front of New York-New York where many festivities will take place.
There will also be a holiday-themed photo op there. Don’t be surprised to see bagpipers walk out into The Park between Park MGM and New York-New York to serenade visitors lounging outside.
Many celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with Irish beer or whiskey. For the first time, MGM Resorts is adding a new way to imbibe during Celtic Feis. There will be a pop-up cocktail bar shaking up and stirring unique and creative St. Patrick’s Day drinks all day and night.
Celtic Feis is more than just a party. There’s a long-running charitable component to the event that will take place after the big St. Patrick’s Day shindig.
For the 16th straight year, Celtic Feis will support a great cause with exclusive merchandise sales benefiting the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. This is a charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancer.
Local celebrities and those feeling charitable will participate in the 16th annual St. Baldrick’s Day head-shaving event on Sunday, March 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. While the big party will take place on Saturday, this event will also have live entertainment to raise money for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
Nine Fine Irishmen is one of the best Irish bars in Las Vegas. It’s also one of the few inside a Vegas Strip casino. Here are a couple more options if you’re looking to take the St. Patrick’s Day party elsewhere.
Rí Rá at Mandalay Bay is a large Irish pub with five different sections, each with its own theme. There are authentic vintage finishes throughout the bar and restaurant to give it an authentic feel. If the visit is going right, you won’t remember that the bar is in a shopping plaza between two casinos.
The Linq is built where O’Sheas Casino once existed on the Vegas Strip. As a nod to the past, O’Sheas has been kept alive as a section of the casino with gaming, a bar, beer pong, and a stage for a band. O’Sheas is typically the epicenter of activity on St. Patrick’s Day at The Linq shopping promenade in the center of the Vegas Strip. When the weather is nice, visitors will be partying inside and outside of the casino along the promenade.
Since we’re completionists, we might as well include Tilted Kilt at The Linq shopping promenade. This chain of Irish bars falls under the category of “breastaurant.” You won’t find an authentic Irish experience here, but it’s technically an Irish bar.
