With a Little Help from … Ringo Starr and Friends Come to Vegas at The Venetian

He is one of the iconic names in rock and roll history. He is one of the elder statesmen in the game today, still performing at a prominent level. And he has got a host of fellow musicians that, for the third year in a row, will bring the music of Ringo Starr to life at The Venetian this fall.

Octogenarian Powers All-Starr Band

Marking three consecutive years that they have been in town, Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band will take to the stage for a very limited-run residency at The Venetian’s Theatre. There are only six dates through September and, with the smaller size of the Venetian Theatre (approximately 1,500 seats), it will be a hot ticket to get. Tickets went on sale for a sweet price of $69.95 through Ticketmaster, VenetianLasVegas.com, and by phone (702-414-9000 or 866-641-7469) but, by this point, are probably only found through resale outlets.

The six dates are as follows for the All-Starr Band’s performance at The Venetian:

September 17
September 19
September 20
September 24
September 26
September 27

If you think that Starr is just going to show up and serve as a face for this show, a video released on YouTube demonstrates that he is intricately involved in preparations for the Las Vegas residency.

Along with legendary producer T. Bone Burnett (who handles the musical director duties for Starr), a YouTube video on Starr’s page shows the preparations that are underway for not only The Venetian shows but also for an appearance at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville:

As per any tour that Starr undertakes with the All-Starr Band, the former Beatle is bringing some heavy hitters for backup. Former Toto guitarist and producer extraordinaire Steve Lukather will be on the stage alongside Starr, as will Men at Work vocalist Colin Hay, Kansas saxophonist Warren Ham, original Average White Band singer/guitarist Hamish Stuart, and drummer Gregg Bissonette, to make up the “All-Starr Band.” As with any performance from Starr and his friends, there is always the opportunity for OTHER luminaries to hop in for a spell, so seeing any show during this run could be a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Rock ‘n’ Roll Royalty

It is arguably easier to say what Ringo Starr has not done in the music industry rather than list his achievements but suffice it to say that he was THERE at the start of “rock and roll.”

After joining forces with Paul McCartney, John Lennon, and George Harrison, The Beatles delivered the ‘kick in the ass’ that rock and roll needed in the early Sixties to push beyond the initial Chuck Berry/Elvis Presley/James Brown start. Starr has also had solo success after The Beatles broke up, however, ranging from the recording studios to the movie industry.

Starr has released 20 solo albums in his career and received nine Grammy Awards, between his solo work and that with The Beatles. Knighted in 2022, Sir Ringo also received an Oscar while appearing in 15 movies and has been inducted twice into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (once with The Beatles and as a solo artist).

In January of this year, Starr released his first country album in 50 years, Look Up, with Burnett behind the board and helping with the writing sessions; that album went to #1 in the United Kingdom, while it also entered the Top Ten on many Billboard charts.
