WrestleMania weekend in Las Vegas will get a mega VIP-touch with WWE fans offered lunch with 16-time World Champion and bestselling author John Cena – if they are willing to pay $25,000 for the privilege.
Cena will headline his final WrestleMania as an in-ring talent when he faces Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship, with a little help from The Rock also anticipated given Cena’s recent much-discussed heel turn at the Elimination Chamber PLE last month. After winning the main event, perpetual hero Cena became a bad guy by attacking WWE champion and current face of the company Rhodes.
The venue for this private meal has yet to be revealed but, as per PW Insider and confirmed by WWE, it will be at a “five-star Las Vegas restaurant” on the afternoon of Friday, April 18 – the night before night one of the “Showcase of the Immortals.’
Tickets will be limited to just 20 people, each paying $25,000, and they will be treated to stories from Cena’s storied career and an after-dinner speech from the man himself, as well as, presumably, a little socializing.
Cena has attempted to follow Dwayne Johnson, The Rock, from the WWE ring to Hollywood in recent years, dramatically scaling down his on-screen wrestling appearances. However, he is once again the talk of the industry following his surprise heel turn.
It is the first time during the star’s lengthy pomp that he has played the role of the bad guy, and many believed it would never happen due to the amount of revenue his merchandise generates, especially for younger fans, and given he is currently on his farewell tour before retirement.
Still, despite the WWE becoming less reliant on Cena in recent years due to the emergence of legitimate main event stars such as Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes, Cena’s ability to draw crowds is still largely unparalleled, as his current run proves.
John Cena will not be the only chance WWE fans get to get up close and personal with legends of the business. WWE have confirmed that The Undertaker, real name Mark Calaway, will host UNDERTAKER 1 deadMAN SHOW at Fontainebleau on Saturday, April 19, at 10 pm PT.
As per the press release, the show will feature “The Phenom” in an intimate setting sharing never-before-heard stories from his Hall of Fame career and taking questions from the audience. It will take place at BleauLive Theater as part of WrestleMania week, the same venue as the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.
The Undertaker will be making another appearance in Las Vegas on at WWE World, an event at the Las Vegas Convention Center, April 17-21, where fans can buy photos and autographs from the stars. The Undertaker will be there on Saturday, April 19, and will be joined by a host of current and former stars across the event, including Stone Cold Steve Austin and Mike Tyson.
Meanwhile, if you want to eat with WWE legends on WrestleMania 41 weekend in Las Vegas but don’t want to pay $25,000, then Brewdog, a restaurant on the Strip with a 30,000 square-foot rooftop patio, has you covered – or, if that’s more to your liking.
On Location, the events company putting on the Cena Luncheon, have partnered with Brewdog to offer a "Superstar Brunch" for those looking for a lower price point for dining with greatness.
The two-hour events, one held on each day of WrestleMania and starting at 9am, will allow fans to mingle with current stars and legends – including Mickie James, Rikishi (whose son Jay Uso is in a WrestleMania main event title match), Chelsea Green, Austin Theory, and Grayson Waller – tickets go for only $395.
While noting in the disclaimer that On Location can’t guarantee that every superstar will introduce themselves to every guest, it is an event where the pro wrestlers will sit with the guests and chat, and take selfies with the Las Vegas Strip in the background.
