What Are The Odds Of Getting Married in Canada?

Valentine's Day is arguably the most romantic time of the year, but that can be different for some people. We don't often to get to choose when we meet the loves of our lives, but when we do, it's only natural to associate that time as the most romantic of the year. 

But around Valentine's Day is as good an excuse as any to compile a list of Canada's most romantic provinces and territories. But, because we're Casinos.com and have a team of professional in-house oddsmakers, we decided to take a break from reviewing casino sites to also compile the odds in each area of getting married - just for the day that's in it!

We looked at a plethora of data, including marriage rates, divorce rates, sexual satisfaction, dating app interest and more to decipher our index. And the results are in. 

Where Is The Most Romantic Place In Canada?

Romance is defined as a feeling of excitement and mystery associated with love - but one person's romance in another's cringe. However, given the data, we can certainly see some areas in Canada are more "romantic" than others. 

Newfoundland and Labrador came out well in the study. Here, you have the best odds of getting married at 11/10 or 47.6%, and this province also has the second lowest divorce rate behind Yukon (which has a far lower sample to go by). Likewise, people here are among the most sexually satisfied. 

Newfoundland and Labrador also showed less interest than other provinces regarding online dating apps - suggesting people are more likely to stick with a partner, and therefore have no need for them. 

Next in line is Alberta, with a 44.4% probability of getting married, or odds of 9/5, followed by Saskatchewan at 42.1%, or odds of 11/10. Both these provinces also showed on the lower end of interest in dating apps. 

However, Albertans should be wary of the 9.7 (per 1,000) divorce rate. So, while romance may be high, the chances for it to turn out badly is also higher than it is in other spots. 

Where Are You Least Likely To Get Married In Canada? 

Meanwhile, with odds of 6/4 of getting married, the provinces British Columbia, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia all fell down the pecking order for most romantic areas in Canada. 

People in British Columbia have the highest interest in dating apps and a meager 57% sexual satisfaction, lower than any other province with recorded data. 

Of course, the flip side of this is that you could perceive a higher interest in dating apps as the best way to find a new connection, potentially.
