"It’s Tuesday, March 18th. This is your casinos news roundup.

"A recent study by the Quality Mark Responsible Affiliates (KVA) shows a dramatic rise in traffic to illegal gambling sites in the Netherlands, increasing from about 172,576 visitors in October to over one million by March 2025, attributed to new deposit limits aimed at curbing excessive gambling.

"As players search for "casinos without limits," concerns grow among industry leaders that stricter regulations could inadvertently push more players towards unlicensed platforms.

"Global Gaming Women celebrated IWD with an event in London casino, encouraging attendees to bring along a 'rising star' to promote female inclusion and mentorship.

"The highlight was a keynote speech by Juliet Slot, Chief Commercial Officer of Arsenal F.C., who shared insights on her career and advocated for greater inclusion in sports and leadership roles.

"Starting March 17, 2024, the UK's Online Safety Act will impose strict regulations on over 100,000 social media platforms, requiring them to effectively tackle illegal content or face fines of up to £18 million or 10% of global revenue.

"The Act mandates enhanced safety measures, including protecting children and vulnerable users from harmful content; it applies to both UK-based and international companies with links to the UK.

"Police in Ho Chi Minh City are investigating a massive $3.8 billion gambling ring run by four siblings, who allegedly disguised their operations as cryptocurrency investment opportunities, generating bets using digital currencies.

"The operation, which operated from early 2020 until late 2021, involved a multi-level marketing scheme with around 25,000 registered user accounts, and authorities are pursuing charges against multiple suspects, including foreign nationals recruited to assist in the scheme.

"Darts player Prakash Jiwa has been handed an eight-year ban from all Darts Regulation Authority events after being found guilty of match-fixing and betting on darts, with a suspension lasting until November 2031.

"The DRA Disciplinary Committee ruled Jiwa must pay costs of nearly £17,742 and has until March 2025 to appeal the decision.

"That’s it for now; you can read these and other stories on Casinos.com. Don’t forget to sign up and subscribe for all our latest offers and giveaways.

Most of my career was spent in teaching including at one of the UK’s top private schools. I left London in 2000 and set up home in Wales raising four beautiful children. I enrolled at University where I studied Photography and film and gained a Degree and subsequently a Masters Degree. In 2014 I helped launch a new local newspaper and managed to get front and back page as well as 6 filler pages on a weekly basis. I saw that journalism was changing and was a pioneer of hyperlocal news in Wales. In 2017 I started one of the first 24/7 free independent news sites for Wales. Having taken that to a successful business model I was keen for a new challenge. Joining the company is exciting for me especially as it is a new role in Europe. I am keen to establish myself and help others to do the same.
