The Luckiest Casinos in Manitoba

I’ve never been to Manitoba, so before I started writing about their casinos, I did a quick Google search, and the two fun facts that struck me the most were that there are 25,000 beluga whales in Hudson Bay and that the province has once been colder than Mars.

Anyway, not one of the tourism sites mentioned casinos, but there are in fact a few gambling destinations in the province.

The first casino in Winnipeg opened in 1996, and prior to that, lotteries were legalized way back in 1970. It’s only recently, however, that the bettors in the province have gained access to single market sports betting, which was allowed in 2021. Now, Manitoba has 6 First Nations casinos and 2 non-native casinos, located in areas like Winnipeg and Carberry, and you can also gamble online at licensed sites

With just a few land-based casinos in the province of Manitoba, you’ll want to be absolutely certain that you’ll at least stand some chance at winning, before you make the trek to any of these casinos. Of course, there’s never a guarantee that you’ll walk away a winner, but the Casinos.com team has done the best we can to help guide you in the direction of a lucky casino.

We took to Tripadvisor and combed through all the reviews of Manitoba casinos, to find mentions of keywords like "winner,"  "lucky,” and "profit.”

We used those stats to rank three casinos in the province, and we’ll tell you the results below.

  • Club Regent Casino
  • McPhillips Street Station Casino
  • Sand Hills Casino
Luckiest Casinos in Manitoba

We’ll count down for you, from the least to the most lucky casinos in the province of Manitoba.

At third place on our list and rated as our unluckiest casino in Manitoba is Sand Hills Casino, which got 5.66% on our scale.

Only three people out of 53 mentioned any of our keywords - two calling out “luck” and one mentioning "winner.” One reviewer said, “We never had much luck but had fun! It says you win 98% of the time, which I certainly did not see!” - but we think that this person might just have quite a poor understanding of the concept of slot game RTP.

Anyway, if you decide that you’d like to visit Sand Hills Casino anyway, there’s a pretty modest selection of about 300 slots, plus some tables to keep you entertained. The casino also has free live music and dining options, and members can look forward to some exciting perks like free play and cashback offers.

Right in the middle of our list was Club Regent Casino, which scored 12.61% on the Luck Scale. This is the casino with the most reviews, standing at 230 at the time of writing, with 29 calling out one of our keywords.

The casino has over 1,200 slots, as well as live tables and electronic tables, and while you’re there, you might want to check out one of the bars, or take in a comedy, music, or boxing event. There are also regular promotions like Senior’s Day and Customer Appreciation Day, where you can get free play or extra bonus money.

According to one review, “We had 10 dollars each to play with on this card. Well, what fun we had and my sister in law won 100.00 on her second attempt at a slot machine. We really did enjoy the excitement of the casino and the atmosphere.”

Coming out on top of the list was McPhillips Street Station Casino, which got 17.31% on our scale, with 18 out of 104 reviews mentioning one of our keywords. There were five callouts each of “luck” and "winning," and two people even mentioned a "bonus.”

This Winnipeg-based casino has over 1,200 slot machines (including top titles like the Buffalo series, Lighting Link games, and 88 Fortunes), as well as table games and bingo, plus there are three different dining options, including a bar on the casino floor.

One happy reviewer said, “Although we didn't win at bingo, we won playing other games and also met up with some friends. Had a great night at McPhillips Casino!”
