Lightning Sic Bo

Lightning Sic Bo Review

When Sic Bo was invented thousands of years ago in Asia, I’m sure the people then had no clue how popular it’d go on to become. Today, Evolution has transformed the game into something incredibly striking – and I mean that literally – with Lightning Sic Bo. It joins a series of other Lightning games from the renowned provider, and it’s one of the top favorites for many players.

However, you can’t conclude a game is worthwhile simply due to its developer and aesthetics. So, I played several rounds over multiple days to see how Lightning Sic Bo performed. In my opinion, the game is enjoyable, and I recommend it for live dealer game fans. But there are other in-betweens you’ll want to know before loading it up at your preferred casino. Read on as I share all my findings in this review.

Lightning Sic Bo Game Design

First things first, let’s talk about the design. Evolution rode the same route as the other Lightning games I’ve played, including Lightning Blackjack, Lightning Roulette, and Lightning Dice. The studio flaunts black, red, and gold colors, which gives you a premium vibe. Interestingly, the backdrop behind the dealer features eye-catching Asian designs, ensuring the game stays true to its origins. Talking about the dealer, it’s always a female one, and she’s usually all dressed in red.

After launching the game, I found the large betting table taking over half the screen. The sections were well-labeled and separated, so nothing was confusing. Plus, Evolution placed the chips right below the table, and I only had to click and drag up to make my bets.

Once the game began, the video stream switched to the dice shaker with three red dice. Like in other live Sic Bo games I’ve played, the dealer doesn’t handle the dice to keep things transparent. There wasn’t any peculiar design with the shaker – it was simply transparent – but I loved that the base was golden. Also, the stand holding the shaker looks like a large, open, and golden pineapple, but I’m sure it’s an Asian design I don’t recognize.

Overall, I think the Lightning Sic Bo design is what anyone would expect. I didn’t find it overwhelming since the colors complemented each other perfectly.

How to Play Lightning Sic Bo Online

In Lightning Sic Bo, the basic gameplay is the same as the traditional version. However, the Lightning element ups the thrill, and that’s why I rate it as one of the top live casino games around. All the same, playing is a cakewalk. At the start, the dealer calls for bets, and all you have to do is click on chips and place them on a section on the table.

In my first round, I went safe and made a simple $50 bet on Small/Big. The betting window is only 15 seconds – you’ll see the timer counting at the top right side of your screen – so it’s essential you act fast. Once time’s up, the lightning feature joins the action. Basically, lightning strikes and hits up to seven spots on the betting table. Each one then gets a multiplier ranging from 5x to 2,000x.

If lightning strikes a spot you bet on, you’re in luck. Why? Well, your payout will be increased by the multiplier. For instance, if you were to win $200 and the spot gets a 5x multiplier, you’d score $1,000 instead. Now, imagine if it’s higher, say 25x, 50x, or 100x. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any in my first round, but I was lucky a few other times. As the lightning strikes, the dealer turns on the shaker, which shakes the dice for a few seconds. Then, the result is displayed, and payouts are made.

The game is pretty fast, as a new round starts immediately. However, there’s a notable hiccup when playing Lightning Sic Bo by Evolution: a 20% lightning fee. With my $50 bet, the fee was $10, so the total stake was $60 – it’s non-negotiable. If you win, with or without a multiplier, the payout will be calculated by the total. Otherwise, you won’t get the fee back.

Lightning Sic Bo Bet Information

Evolution made Lightning Sic Bo to be pretty accessible. In my opinion, it’s not one for high rollers, although the overall betting range is $0.20 to $1,000. If you look at the chips below the virtual table, there’s only 0.20, 0.50, 1, 2, 5, and 25. Some live Sic Bo games I’ve played at the best casino sites feature chips with up to 500 values.

Furthermore, I must mention that the maximum limit is lower for some bet types. In fact, it’s only $1,000 for Small/Big and Odd/Even, which are even money bets. The highest you can stake ranges from $25 to $250 for others. To make things easier, check the table below to find all the details about betting in Lightning Sic Bo:

BetMeaningLimit Payout
Small/BigA bet on whether the total of the three dice will fall between 4-10 (Small) or 11-17 (Big). It loses on any triple$0.20 to $1,0001 - 14:1
Odd/EvenA bet on whether the total of the three dice will be an odd or even number. This also loses if the result is a triple$0.20 to $1,0001 - 14:1
DoubleA bet that two of the three dice will show the same number$0.20 to $1008 - 149:1
TripleA bet that all three dice will show a specific exact number$0.20 to $25150 - 1,999:1
Any TripleA bet that all three dice will show any matching number, regardless of which$0.20 to $10030 - 499:1
TotalA bet on the exact total of the three dice combined, with different totals offering varying payout odds$0.20 to $2506 - 999:1
CombinationA bet that two specific numbers will appear on any two of the three dice$0.20 to $2505 - 99:1
SingleA bet that a specific number will appear on at least one dice$0.20 to $1001 - 87:1

Lightning Sic Bo Bonus Features

Don’t expect many bonus features with Lightning Sic Bo by Evolution. It’s understandable since it’s a live dealer game, and everything happens in real time. Anyway, I rate the Lightning element as a bonus feature, but having already talked about that, let’s look at some extras you’ll find while playing this thrilling dice game:

Winning Numbers

You can access this feature by checking the How to Play section. I found the Winning Numbers feature quite crucial while playing, as it shows the results of previous rounds. Specifically, the outcome of the most recent round is displayed on the left as the total of the three dice on the upper line.

Thanks to Winning Numbers, I was able to track which figures have been hitting frequently. This gave me some insight into potential patterns, although I know that each round is independent.

Roadmap

This is similar to Winning Numbers but more about the main bet types. Particularly, the Roadmap includes S (Small), B (Big), and T (Triple) markers, and it’s another helpful tool I leverage. I can see how often small or big numbers appear or the frequency of when a triple lands. This helps in making more informed bets based on recent trends. However, note that the game itself is based on chance.

My Experience Playing Lightning Sic Bo Live

Generally, Sic Bo has simple gameplay, and it wasn’t different with the Evolution Lightning version. Typical of the popular provider, the video stream was high quality, and I followed the rounds without difficulty. I tested the game on PC and also on mobile using the best casino apps, and everything was smooth.

Notably, the dealer’s voice was much louder and more emphatic than other live dice games I’ve played, including Craps. However, I must mention that the dealer doesn’t do much besides calling for bets and announcing results. She can’t handle the dice since the game uses an automated shaker to ensure the roll is random.

I know this isn’t on Evolution, as it’s similar to other live Sic Bo. However, if you compare the setting to other games – like live blackjack, where the dealer shares cards, or live shows, where there’s a standing host – it’s easy to see that it lacks interaction.

My Experience Playing Lightning Sic Bo for Real Money

Since Lightning Sic Bo is a live game, you can only play for real money – there’s no demo version. That said, rest assured the experience is enjoyable. I’m a big fan of the game’s fast pace and variety of betting options. However, the main selling point is the Lightning multipliers, which can increase potential payouts from 5x to 2,000x. The view of lighting striking on its own also adds thrill.

Personally, I have no issue with the betting limit and chip values. However, if you’re a high roller, placing multiple chips for a high stake may take time. For instance, to bet $500 on Small/Big, you have to place 20 25-value chips on the virtual table.

Lightning Sic Bo Review Summary

In the words of Evolution, Lightning Sic Bo is "an ancient Asian dice game with an electrifying twist". It’s hard to argue that once you join the live table and play a couple of rounds. The game gets many things right, including design, multipliers, diverse betting options, and an accommodating betting limit. I can’t skip the extra features like Winning Numbers and Road Map, which can help if you’d love to throw in some strategy.

Things aren’t so cool regarding the 20% lightning fee and limited chip range. This makes the game less ideal for high rollers, as a 20% charge can be significant for a big bet. However, if you’re a moderate player, I can fully recommend Lightning Sic Bo by Evolution as a perfect dice game.
